Thats soooo geeky that its actually cool. Even his remote is freakin Lego.

But the 6 year old in me wants to see him crank it up to 7th gear and drive it into a wall.

Just amazing. New Mindstorms (NXT 3.0) is just out and you should see the range of sensors and motors that come with it. Give it a few months and people will be making some insane contraptions with it.
