I got my niece some Scooby Doo lego, haunted mansion for her 18th as a bit of a laugh. She was worried about growing up. She loved it! But my sister stupidly threw away the box. She's a clean freak and didn't think. Scooby Doo lego wont have a long shelf life but he has been around over 45 years. In another 45 years it might be worth something but without a box well... :(

Anyway I even bought some today and will build her over the weekend. Might get an X-wing and Tie fighter in time too. I'd like model kits but doesn't seem to be any about.

I built her last night. Took about an hour and only one or two steps in the instructions were unclear. Mainly how far certain pins should be pushed in. Full articulated and the red stick on the gun is a projectile. The gun has a spring loaded block so it does fire and the projectile does come out at some speed. It did surprise me and not something you'd want kids playing with. It would do some serious eye damage. She stands just over 10 inches tall. I do need to iron the crease out of her cape at some point.

I've been meaning to post this, nothing special in the way that it is just the regular technic kit but it's the largest one I have ever done. I bought it as a project for myself & the kids to do after we saw it at a lego exhibition we attended near my folks place in Sept. 165 steps in 239 pages of instructions & over 1000 individual pieces took us 6 sessions of between 1-2hrs each session to complete it.
It was great fun sharing it with the kids. It's now sitting on top of my boys chest of draws, he is as proud as punch having built it with Dad & now having it in his room. :D

Speaking of my boy he also got General Grievous for a Xmas present, only took him about 30-45mins to finish him. :p

The Porsche & Bucket Wheel Technic are on my wishlist, but neither are in my boys 2016 Lego Club Aus catalogue. Let's hope they do get released here.
These 2 are in his catalogue for an Apr release, I'll be getting both. :)

42050 Drag Racer. The B model looks as good if not better than the A model in my opinion.

Porsche and the bucket wheel will come here. They'll just be a slightly later release.

For anyone in Adelaide over Easter, there's a Lego exhibition on at the Convention Centre http://www.brickalaide.com.au/ that's worth seeing if you're into this stuff.

My 12 year old son is doing a display for it, so I'll be there all of both days, anyone who's there, make sure you come over and say hi.

Yeah would love to see some pics.

Duke that kit looks awesome.

That Porsche is amazing. Must get that!

I'm stuck at work at the moment, killing time until a 7:30pm shoot. I was reading this thread and realised I'd made a time lapse of my last build but hadn't really done anything with it. Nothing special, was shot on my iPhone and I haven't bothered to edit any of it, but it filled in some time while I wait around here.

It's gone pretty well, we're just grabbing the last few parts, I'll take some complete pics when it's done and looking a bit neater than it is now. Bloody expensive business though!

Here's a shot from a week or so ago that his mum put on Facebook, more progress has been made since then. As you can see, he's into public transport.

So, Brickalaide was on the last few days.

Connor won under 16 best in show (his prize was the Tower Bridge set), good effort for his first time exhibiting, and picked up a lot of praise from some of the best MOC builders there!

A few pics of his display:

Fuzzy, but the only one I have of his whole layout
