Awesome Johnny!

This watch on massdrop is pretty nice. Just a Miyota movement but love the design.

I just can't justify spending anything more than about $100 on a battery watch. It's depends I guess if you value styling over movement. You're paying for the styling of that watch. For that price you could grab a Seiko SARB033/34 that some of us have bought. The moment in that is on par with most of the Swiss ETA movements that you find in $2000-4000 watches.

Thanks, but I ended up being in love with the desing, so I actually bought myself one a few days ago! :)

Melbourne watch company is having a sale on their 'near new' stock. Very minor imperfections or used for promo days/photo shoots etc.

The model called Flinders was in my mind really nice looking, would have easily bought that one maybe a half year ago, before I started looking at the watch I ended up buying.

They are two very different types of watches.

Why not have both? :)

I picked up this yesterday. It was kind of a spur of the moment purchase. I'd seen the watch before and really liked it, I walked passed it again and couldn't resist. Absolutely love it, the dial is kind of hard to photograph, but it's not actually just a white, but a seems to transition between a silver and white depending on the light you're in. It's a gorgeous watch to look at in the flesh.

It's Bruce from Iron Maiden doing some pilot inspired gear. It's where the 666 comes from. That's a test pilots watch hence why the buttons are set to the left, so they don't hit your wrist on throttle control. But the watch itself is made by the same guy that makes watches for the French Foreign Legion.

Nice one! The mayota movements are citizen made, and quite reliable.

Kinda strange buying a local watch from a US site, but oh well, if it's cheaper who cares.

The wait killed me when I bought from massdrop. I'm so impatient when I buy things online.

Yeah, that's a nice item. I'm liking the strap, as daft as it seems. My work watch, a Fossil, has a lovely leather strap. I keep toying with the idea of having one fitted to the Tag

My MWC Flinders turned up this week.

Unfortunately, there's a problem with it. I thought I saw some sand or dirt moving around under the front crystal. On closer inspection, it looks like the small round index from 12 o'clock has come off the face and is rolling around in there. If you look at the pic, you can see the dot is missing at 12 o'clock and there's something shiny down at the 27 minute mark that shouldn't be there. I imagine it has happened during shipping.

The good news is that I contacted MWC and they've sent me a shipping label to send it back for a replacement face. It's a pretty watch! The colour is a light-cream sort of tone, but it seems to pick up the available light colour easily. The manual winder is a bit hard to get a grip on and is a bit stiff to wind, but those are not deal breakers.
