When you just want to listen to something use switch the band to the head and use them as headphones for those times.

OBDLink MX – Plug-in system that gives diagnostics from your car right on a smartphone.

Ever see the check engine light come on and wonder whether it’s a minor or major worry? The OBDLink is a small device that plugs into any car’s standard OBD port to provide detailed diagnostics right on your smartphone. In addition, features include the ability to remote start and unlock, check real-time gas mileage, turn off “check engine light”, and more. Runs through March 5th.

Neutron S – A magnetized cube that helps you mount your iPhone, iPad, etc.

The Neutron S is an anodized aluminum cube that mounts your device to any wall. Sounds simple, but the practical applications make this project worth checking out. Project runs through March 6th.

How is a magnet magnetically shielded? Not sure how that works.

The magnets in this case are shielded by the disc that you stick to your phone with 3m tape, but to say no magnetic field will enter the device being attached sounds like complete BS to me since the aluminium case surrounding the magnets offer no shielding whatsoever.

Ohhh, you have to stick a disc to the back of the phone? That's mildly annoying. I guess there's not really any other way of doing it. But yeah, I'm skeptical that would be entirely shielded.

There are already Bluetooth OBD devices and apps to use them.

among other things, it is the wi-fi that is the winner for me

bluetooth OBDII devices wont work on iOS.

I have one. Only cost $10 or so. Sold the 86 and now use an iPhone :)

Follow up on the Potato Salad kickstart
An Ohio man who jokingly sought $10 from a crowdfunding website to pay for his first attempt at making potato salad and ended up raising $55,000 is making good on his promise to throw a huge party.

Zack Brown is planning PotatoStock 2014, an all-ages, charity-minded party Saturday in downtown Columbus featuring bands, food trucks, beer vendors, potato-sack races and definitely potato salad.

His effort on Kickstarter to buy potato salad ingredients took on a life of its own and attracted worldwide attention as the amount grew.

The Idaho Potato Commission and corporate sponsors have donated supplies for Brown and volunteers to whip up 300 pounds of potato salad for the event.

The Columbus Dispatch reports Brown used some of the money to aid charities fighting hunger and homelessness.
