I'm having a ball making it. And I'm kind of ok with my mistakes now. It's a little bit like a new car you baby and can't bare the thought of the smallest scratch. You get a few, and inevitably less concerned about it.

I still want to do a good job, but I've come to terms with the fact that it's a first model for me, and going to be quite a few stuff ups.

Anyway, a few more pics.

Do you have any polishing compound Dex? Tamiya make a coarse and a fine one and they can take a little texture out of your paint finishes. Be super careful around sharp edges but they can make a nice difference, well worth the money and the time.

Looking good so far. I completely understand what you're saying about babying a new car. Just backed mine into a wall and cracked a tail light lens. I've been kicking myself all Xmas. :(

Oh wow. What a pain. That's a little more than a scratch.

Jiminee I just had a look at the polishing compound at the hobby shop. I'm guessing like car polish you use the coarse one first and the 'finish' after that. Are you meant to do this before you apply a clear coat to the model? I had a few other things to get, and left them for the time being since I haven't been using it already on this kit. I think I'll give it a go on the next one.

I have a 95 Impreza Rally car lined up. And of course the Mica blue paint ready to go :D

I haven't really done anything on it since the last update. I went away camping etc for the rest of my holidays, and now back at work and busy again. I'm sure there will be a few quiet weekends soon where I can get stuck back into it.
