I fired it up again the other day - as I do every few months. I really try hard to like it but I always find myself getting bored after a few corners. I've spent hours over the years messing with my wheel settings, trying different cars and setups but it always feels wrong somehow, and with most cars I end up spending half the time fighting inexplicable slides. That gets old pretty quickly.

The only real fun I've had is on the autocross stuff or racing online but the forum community puts me off doing that! Every time I revisit the LFS forum I open a few threads, shake my head, then leave feeling dirty and telling myself not to do it again. :melt:

The devs have been full of surprises since day one so I've been expecting some big announcement for a long time now but it really does sound like development ground to a halt in 2008. It'll take a damn sight more than a hatchback to spark interest.

Ha! so I'm not the only one.
Altho I've tried really hard, but since S2 something wasn't right for me.

Perhaps that's what's happened to the trolls - been busy elsewhere.

I take it the devs have other jobs and don't just put all their time into this game?

If thats the case then I'm not surprised it's like this... but if not... I paid money for an Alpha -_- Most games you play the beta for free ffs.

well LFS was a pretty big part of ARSE's racing game of choice there for a while. In fact its how I came across you mad bastards.

The fact that it has pretty much vanished is sad. For simple plug in and play racing I loved it. I could get online and in a race within 30 seconds of turning my pc on. And race a local server against the lads I enjoyed racing against.

Yeah that was the biggest thing, the pickup racing.
But they have slowed down like this years ago now. The surprise would be if they'd come out with big regular updates again, sadly enough.

I never even entirely got into it as I have had an inferior internet connection indefinitely.

However I am saddened by the ridiculous deterioration of interest by the developers.

I think they are just trying to develop more than they can handle. Often in Scawen's posts he comments about how he works on what holds his current interest. In my books that means, I've half completed 100 things and can't be fucked to finish them.
