Give it a few months and Big Kev should be able to settle the "how realistic are the physics" argument. :D

If this is the only new feature, it's a bit lame.

1 car in 6 months = not as much work as they used to produce.

Yeah, I used to think *yawn*, however, the lower powered cars do offer some of the closest racing you'll find... MNR is still drawing over 30 drivers a week, so i'm looking forward to a series using the VW.

Maybe they should organise a community competition to design a track :D

How long did it take to come up with a one car update? :) Still, I welcome the freebies (even though I probably still won't play it)

I don't find this funny at all. They haven't done anything tangible in a long, long time. What they have done is fiddle with stuff that doesn't really add to the interest of the game that much and then when they do announce they are going to introduce something new its only minor.

It's a bit like if Microsoft didn't release any patches for 6 months and then, if they did, the only functionality they added was the ability to embed a Remote Desktop session in to your desktop background.

well i just downloaded the cmx viewer and THE T-BAR GEARSTICK IS GOOOONE! TO THE PRESSES! its got the 6 speed manual, says scirocco tsi on the back, and looks mean. in a clean wholesome german-engineered kind of way.

i find r8 funny, though it enrages him. i guess in the lucky country we're so used to getting it our own way that we forgot that we just play the game. it would probably cost another 12 pounds for the FAG license, then we could legitimately have a tantrum because our free stuff wasn't free enough.

I don't give a shit until they release some new tracks! I'll never get bored of any particular car, just the location it's in. This is the biggest update since the multicoloured triangles that appeared on my track map a year or two ago.

That said, I'll probably chuck a few laps in the buzzbox as no no doubt there will be some decent sized fields to race in.

At least it doesn't cost anything to find out if you don't like it. Free content no matter how small is still good value is this day and age..

BUT.... yes bring on some new tracks!

Don't they normally release a little bit extra than they state in the announcements? There might be a few surprises.

I think you will find there are some minor (& I mean minor) updates but to expect more than that would be a bit optimistic as a new car is a big deal in the LFS developers minds. :fall:
If you check out the new CMX viewer there are new wheels for the FBM, based on real OZ racing wheels. There are also some minor graphical improvements like brake calipers other than that I am not holding my breath for huge physics changes but you never know.

But new content is always welcome so I will crack out the wheel to try the VW, hopefully a few Aussie servers will see some older faces doing the same.

Wheels and door handles are skinnable, good news for those that like to have a skin. Apparently it's nice to skin.
