Someone has made a rally car mod ;)

I have been keeping an eye on this one ever since their tech demo which surprisingly ran well on my machine and the deformable terrain was pretty impressive.

Oovee Game Studios uploaded a new video showing us the progress on the SpinTires engine damage visual effects. While trying to reach your destination crawling trough mud, water and harsh terrain, keeping the engine in one piece might determine the outcome of your mission. If you damage your engine, the visuals that go with it, already look pretty awesome. Oovee Game Studios is still improving both physical and graphical engine damage features.

Had some fun with it, but it can be bloody infuriating at times, get 3/4 of the way across the map with the log truck and a load of logs, roll the f'ing thing on it's side and it might as well be game over.

Yeah I agree. As much as I like the way they have done the softbody physics, the mud is really a bit harsh. They could have made the mud a little shallow but make the map bigger.

I am getting a bug which is a game breaker for me, one side, the wheels disappear (and I mean literally) in the mud and the physics glitch so the drive is reversed and the truck will go in circles or not move at all.

Yeah I've had the same issue, reset the truck to the garage is the only thing for it, I have seen on the steam forums that the devs know about it, they way I saw the bug explained is the wheel gets through the terrain mesh and is driving on the underside of it hence making the drive reversed to the other wheels.

The no cockpit view is a deal breaker for me. They say it's coming, but needs to be now. I want to use my wheel for the most part.

Yeah, I'm very surprised there's no wheel support or cockpit view. It just feels incomplete.

Apparently they are on the way in future because of the demand.

Watching a twitch stream with the devs, quite interesting.

Starting to enjoy the challenge of this now, any time I'm moving a log truck it has a support vehicle with it at all times to tow it out of sticky situations, things got easier once I figured out you can winch off other vehicles or tow vehicles out of bogs, the crane boom is also a great moveable counterweight to stop the truck rolling over when the need arises.

I bought this. It's more fun than it has a right to be. Getting used to the weird controls (how do you use the winch?). Have you chaps tried co-op yet?

Took me a while to figure out the crane. Go to the advanced controls, depending which one it is... Space to raise it and R to put it down. Either that it is WSAD to move it around.

Apparently if you drop logs you can pick them up and stick them back on the trailer with the crane.

You certainly can, I've unloaded the trailer a couple of times to extricate the truck from a bog and then moved back in a different spot to reload the timber.

In advanced mode look for small circles at various points around the vehicle, click on one of these, and then click on a tree within the radius, once attached go out of advanced mode (to remove the hand brake) and hold "F" to winch.

Fanks chaps. The camera controls are a bit pants, as they say, but the mud is great. I have a big truck, stuck, I think irreversibly, down a bank and in a bunch of trees...
