Bought this on Sunday and I'm enjoying it so far. Been playing on the StrayaGaming Invade & Annex server. Almost managed a positive kill ratio tonight. Having a hard time spotting enemies even with the thermal scope.

I play Arma 3 quite a bit. I usually play with 3 other mates, quite often we setup co-op scenarios made by the community. You can find some really well made ones on the steam workshop.

Thanks for the heads up on the new map!

Any co-op campaigns you could recommend, Dex? The guys I've been playing with pretty much only play Invade & Annex (which is also co-op) but I wouldn't mind trying something different from time to time.

23:1 last night. That's a bit more like it :)

Yeah, most of the stuff by a guy called R34P3R is solid. 'A Normal Day' is quite challenging. 'Negotiation" is great too. Possibly my fave. Quite often his scenarios change each time, which is pretty awesome. What works one time might not the next. He even has cut scenes and music. A lot of attention to detail, and no mods to download. You should be able to find his stuff if you filter by Top Rated in the steam workshop.

Only the host player needs the file, all you need to do is hit subscribe, then launch multi, start your own server, and check UPNP. Your mates should be able to search your server and join it (i usually pw mine). They will download the necessary scenario files when they connect.

We should try and organise a game one night, would be cool to have a few more guys in a co-op mission. We usually chat over steam, not sure if that gets problematic with more than 4 of us.

We've got a 32 slot server up full time now, called Bens Coop Server. Currently running Enemy Assault (a bit like invade & annex) with a few tweaks. No mods required, all welcome.

Jumped on the server today for a little bit and fumbled around... I used to play ARMA II quite a bit but 3 is taking some time to get used to. Flying is about the same, but spotting targets is much harder.

I kept getting this darkening effect over the screen in big squares every so often, anyone know what that is?

I wondered if that was you :)

That means you were using dlc content you haven't paid for. They let you use it in game to try it out, but make it annoying with the screen overlay stuff. dlc items are marked in the virtual arsenal by an icon to the right of the name.

That's the ACE3 mod. One of the guys I play with was pushing for it, but I found it a bit tedious. There's a point where realism can get in the way of fun, though I guess if you have some player who were happy to take that role it might work ok :)

It adds a lot of other improvements as well, like trying to improve grenade throwing, wind effects for ballistics etc.

Server is open, cj. All welcome.

Couldn't play, my game keeps having an error and crashing after about 5 mins of play. Only started tonight, been fine all week. Deleted everything and reinstalling.

Weird. What's the error? We've noticed people getting kicked out from time to time but we don't know what could be causing it. Did you have any mods enabled? The server might be set to disallow them, but worth making sure everything is off.

With steam doing game Properties->Local Files->Verify game cache should get the game back to default without having to redownload everything.

Yea it was a vague error. https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arm ... _VIOLATION

After 5 mins my sound would drop out and then the game would crash.

Ok, cheers. I will try that. Re-install today and I haven't had the same error. Now I just get system reboot... :(

Played it a bit today with a sandbox mission from the workshop. Looks great.

The AI have much better jungle vision than me. Hopefully that doesn't become annoying. Need to try it in virtual desktop to see if making everything bigger helps :)
