Post by Duke »

Train Simulator 2017:
The annual iteration of the existing TSX core engine for the Standard Edition will feature four of our newest routes from Germany, North America, Great Britain & France:
Hamburg Lübeck: Transport your passengers precisely on time along the Vogelfluglinie between Hamburg and Lübeck in the renowned DB BR 218 locomotive.
North Jersey Coast Line: Experience the precision of American commuter operations along the North Jersey Coast Line in the modern NJ TRANSIT ALP-45DP locomotive.
LGV: Marseille – Avignon: Drive at breakneck speeds along the breath-taking Ligne Grande Vitesse: Marseille Saint Charles to Avignon TGV route in the iconic TGV® Duplex.
South Wales Coastal: Bristol – Cardiff: Take in the scenic countryside of Southern Wales in the distinctive Arriva Trains Wales Class 175

We’re also introducing a new Edition of Train Simulator – TS2017 Pioneers Edition.
This time-limited special edition of TS2017 features the four routes from our Standard Edition but includes two additional bonuses:
Semmeringbahn: The picture postcard scenery of the Austrian Alps dominates the stunning Semmeringbahn: Mürzzuschlag to Gloggnitz route.
Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul Beta
Obtain your copy of TS2017 Pioneers Edition before the Beta starts to secure your place on the Beta and be the first to play our next-generation train simulator. Your feedback will help shape the development of this project. The Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul Beta will start in December 2016 and is just the beginning of the journey. We’ll be introducing the other key territory routes as and when they become available.

Train Simulator 2017 will launch on September 15th, 2016.

TS2017 & TSW Offers:
1. If you do not own any of the content featured, TS2017 Standard Edition will cost you £24.99 ($39.99) and the Pioneers Edition will cost you £29.99 ($44.99).
2. If you already own some of the content featured in TS2017 Standard Edition or TS2017 Pioneers Edition, you will be able to complete your collection and only pay for the content you do not already own. Both TS2017 Standard Edition and TS2017 Pioneers Edition offer a bundle discount of 75% off the total price of all the content included. While logged into Steam, go to the checkout and you will be presented with a total price of just the content that you do not already own.

Q&A:

Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul & TS2017 Standard/Pioneers Edition Backward Compatibility
TS2017 and Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul are entirely separate products built on completely different technology foundations, and so we are unable to provide backward compatibility between them. In order to create a truly next-generation train simulation experience, we needed to build core features such as vehicle physics, engine propulsion, signalling and dispatcher systems from the ground up to more accurately reflect their real-world counterparts.
Your Train Simulator 2017 experience will be completely unaffected by the release of Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul and will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future.

Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul – Multiplayer Feature
Multiplayer is still heavily in development and will therefore not feature in the Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul Beta. However, we are planning for multiplayer to become a key feature of the Train Sim World experience and we’ll have more details on this in the coming weeks.

Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul – Developer & Player Creation Tools
The tools that will allow players and partnered developers to make routes and other content are currently still in development. While we understand how much many of you like to enhance your hobby with our creativity tools, it’s important that these tools are built carefully, with the assistance of your feedback, to ensure they are as powerful and intuitive as we all need them to be.

Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul – Platforms
The Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul Beta will debut on Windows PC this December. The final version will release on Windows PC in February with an Xbox One version expected within the same window. We’ll have more information on this in the coming weeks.

Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul – 64-bit
Train Sim World is built upon the foundation of Unreal Engine 4 technology which is a 64-bit platform. You will require specific hardware in order to run Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul Beta and I have outlined the anticipated minimum specifications below:

Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul Beta – Anticipated Minimum PC Specification
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8 / 8.1 or Windows 10
Processor: 2 GHz Dual-Core 64-bit CPU
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: DirectX 10 Compatible GPU with 2 GB Video RAM
Sound: DirectX Compatible
Storage: Approx 40 GB available space
DirectX: Version 10
A free Steam account and Broadband internet connection is required

Talk about milking the cow, purchase TS2017 so you can purchase TSW when it comes out of beta and goes retail, not to mention any previous dlc you bought for the TS series is not compatible with TSW.

Yes, I'm glad I never invested in any TS DLC & just stuck with updating the base package every now & then.
Although I'm keen to get a taste of TSW, it looks next-gen much like what AC & pCARS have been for the race-sim genre.

In response to your important feedback, today we have released an update for Train Sim World. Here are the items addressed in this build:

Load/Save Issues
A Crash on loading previous saves has been identified and we believe resolved
The dispatcher not being properly re-initialised on reloading some saves has been resolved
We have identified some control states on the locomotives and rolling stock were not being restored correctly on loading and have rectified this
Objective markers were sometimes not re-appearing on loading a save game

Optimisations
We have found some issues with the render distances for Splines and Foliage to be set too far out and have reduced these to more appropriate settings for a decent performance improvement
Some work has been done to optimise the tasks going on for managing AI trains in the background and reduce their overhead
We have reviewed dynamic shadow casting and optimised how and where this is being done
We have removed unnecessary shadow casting from lights in the menu background for a good framerate improvement while in the menu
There have also been a few other minor optimisations to various areas around the game

Keyboard Support
We have added support for the following keyboards: Turkish, Russian, Czech, US_International, Swiss German, French, French Canadian, Polish, Spanish, Italian, Arabic

Rail Vehicles
Incorrect ditch light behaviour on GP38-2 and AC4400CW has been fixed
Culling on SD40-2 when looking at rear wall has been fixed
The Dynamic brake on the HUD was showing positive amps when it should be negative, this has now been fixed
Fuel consumption values for all three locomotives have been adjusted

Gameplay
A number of achievements were being issued simultaneously for incorrect reasons, these have all been reviewed and are now working correctly
We identified an additional situation in which a train could derail and not cause the end-game sequence to trigger

Audio
Compressor and Brake discharge audio volume has been increased
Missing hand brake chain sound on box car has been added
Whistle board had an electrical hum sound, this has been removed

Known Issues
Saving whilst game delivers “objective complete” message causes no objectives at all upon reloading
RARE: Inability to pause the game. (If you experience this, we would like to know more – please let us know!

The Train Sim World update will download automatically from Steam & is approximately 608 MB in size.

Today we have made our third update for Train Sim World available for you to test. As we have for the last two update tests, please try this through the weekend, and if positive we will apply the patch to the main game early next week. We’d like to give a big thank you to all of you who have consistently and constructively offered your feedback and encouragement.

Here are the items addressed in this build:

Load/Save Issues
Further work has been done on identifying entities not correctly persisting and restoring state.
Identified and fixed the cause of some voice overs occasionally not playing on restore.

Optimisations
This build contains the first of our multi-threading improvements. In this build, SimuGraph® will use as many CPU cores as are available, to concurrently evaluate SimuGraph processing on all rail vehicles. This reduces the FPS impact when you sit in a locomotive, and should deliver a greater benefit if more cores are available. We are continuing work in this area.
Improvement to non-player train physics performance.
Other optimisation improvements, particularly when interacting with the AC4400CW IFDs.
Reviewed and corrected lighting setup on rail vehicles.
Changed foliage MiP handling to improve the distant view and deliver a performance improvement.

Keyboard Support
We have added support for the following keyboards: Norwegian, Danish, Bulgarian (non-phonetic), Finnish, German(IBM), Portuguese, Swedish, French Canadian Multilingual, French Canadian Legacy, Spanish Traditional / Spanish, Spanish Variation, Slovenian.

Rail Vehicles
General improvements to the brake pipes.

Audio
Missing coupling audio added.
Engine audio improvements.
Horn audio improvements.
Improvements to the Cab Occlusion system .

Known Issues
RARE: Inability to pause the game. If you are experiencing this, we do want to know more
The Train Sim World update is available for you to test on Steam. To subscribe to the Update 3 Test Build, follow these instructions:

Train Sim World Update 3.5 Available For Testing
We’d like to give a big thank you to all of you who offered your feedback and encouragement on U3TB (Build #49). There are one or two things that we’d like to look into in greater detail so we’re delaying moving this build to the main release this week. Instead, we have rolled all the fixes and improvements we have from U3TB into U3.5TB.
Today we have made Update 3.5 Test Build (Build #50) available for you to test, with a view to release the patch to the main game early next week.
Here are the items addressed in this build:

Optimisation
Further work has been carried out to improve frame rates in scenarios.
Other optimisation improvements.

Keyboard Support
We have fixed issues for the following keyboards: Norwegian, Danish, Bulgarian (non-phonetic), Finnish, German(IBM), Portuguese, Swedish, French Canadian Multilingual, French Canadian Legacy, Spanish Traditional / Spanish, Spanish Variation, Slovenian.

Localisation
We have fixed localisation for Polish and Russian.

Load/Save Issues
We think we have fixed all of the Load/Save Issues but if you still experience problems, please submit a ticket to our Support Team and provide them with your save file.

Rail Vehicles
Additional improvements to the brake pipes.
Fixed AC4400CW IFD screens disappearing when not fully visible on-screen.
Improvements to how End of Train Devices are handled on certain services.
Fixed PCS on AC4400CW which was causing an emergency brake application continually.
Rain/Snow will no longer appear on windows while in tunnels.

User Interface
Added FPS Limit options to Advanced Settings.
Screenshot Quality settings are now saved correctly.
Added keyboard language code ID to setting screen to aid in DTG diagnosing additional keyboard issues.
Added “completed” icon to Services menu.
Added clock to screen when in First Person on foot mode.
Added a Ctrl+0 command so that if you are driving a train, get up and walk around and end up glitching to somewhere you can no longer drive, Ctrl+0 will now put you back in your engineers seat. A more complete fix to prevent glitching is being investigated.

Route
Fixed errant floating trees at Sand Patch Summit.
Slowed melt/freeze speed.
A number of art issues have been resolved as raised by Customer Support tickets.

Known Issues
When attempting to tab a signal while in Cumberland Charge, a game crash is likely.

Today we have made our third update (Build #52) for Train Sim World available to everyone. There is no need to subscribe to a test build as this will update the default installation. If you’re currently subscribed to a test build, you’ll be automatically deferred to the main build. We’d like to give a big thank you to all of you who have consistently and constructively offered your feedback and encouragement.

Here are the items addressed in Build #52:

We have added support for a wide array of International Keyboards.

Rail Vehicles
General improvements to the brake pipes.
Corrected the Ditch light functionality on the AC4400CW and SD40-2.

Gameplay
Fixed an issue that would cause you to Crash to Desktop while attempting to tab a signal in Cumberland Charge. Additional guidance on this scenario is listed under Known Issues.
Fixed an issue that would cause you to Crash to Desktop when loading the last save point in Helping Hand.
Fixed an issue that would prevent you from completing the Fully Fuelled scenario.

Audio
Missing coupling audio added.
Engine audio improvements.
Horn audio improvements.
Improvements to the Cab Occlusion system .

Known Issues
At the end of the Cumberland Charge scenario, extra vigilance should be paid to ensure your train is following the light blue line indicated on the 2D Map, as your enter Cumberland Yard. This may require more switches than those indicated, to be changed in order to reach the correct destination.
There are still some instances where Saved sessions fail to initialise properly on reloading. We are working to resolve all remaining instances. We would advise you avoid using the Save/Load feature for the time-being.

The Train Sim World update will download automatically on Steam. If you are not receiving this update, please double-check that Steam has correctly unsubscribed you from test builds:

Unsubscribing from Test Builds
Load Steam and navigate to your Game Library.
Right-click on Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul and select Properties.
Select the Betas Tab and from the drop-down box, select None – Opt out of all beta programs from the list.
Click Close and allow Steam to update.
If Steam fails to update, please select Exit from the Steam menu and then relaunch Steam. If you still do not receive the update, please submit a ticket to our Support Team.

The Train Sim World Update 3 (Build #52) will be approximately 253 MB in size
