Purchasing GPL

Post by Duke »

After finding this today I thought I would post it here for anyone who is interested in obtaining original copies of GPL.
If I get enough ppl wanting to I would be happy to purchase them in bulk and split the shipping bill in a no profit exercise.
I am also interested in whether anyone has used these guys before or have an alternate supplier as there is no one locally in AUS that I am aware of?

http://www.mastertronic.com/productSold ... s/gpl.html
Shipping is UK $3 pounds for 1st item then UK $1.50 pounds for additional items to a max of 14 items.
So single copy would be between AUS $14.00 - $17.00 landed

Have you had much interest? Obviously not in this thread but maybe PM? I would be keen up mate, been going to order a copy from these guys for a while but just haven't for one reason or another. Would be good to have the actual tracks that came with the game and own a proper copy. Let us know if you are still going ahead with this.

Hey Acer, nope none other than you so far, I will do this eventually but am happy to wait to see if anyone else comes forward.
Even just the 2 of us will reduce the overall cost. Once I am ready I will give you a PM unless your in a hurry...

Nah no hurry, I can rely on the 2004 demo for now but I figured I would throw my hat in if it will help make the postage cheaper. Still a bargain at those prices because of how much there is to GPL with the online and modding community. Well worth it :)

wth, I'll jump in too. I've been looking at getting GPL at some point, then unavailablility made me not to. But it's a classic I would not mind having on my shelf.

Yeah, sign me up.

I assume that if my computer can run LFS then I can run GPL? I only have a crappy laptop. :)

Anyone new to GPL should download & use this installer http://gplps.org/wb/pages/projects/gpl-installer.php to install the game.

It has many graphics updates & necessary patches that the game needs to run on modern PC's.

O.K the first post is updated with list of ppl confirmed wanting a copy.
Acerlyte, good point about payment, I need to think about it but I dare say either direct deposit to my nominated bank acct or as a last resort via a check (if ppl can) but a that would probably cost 1/2 the price of the purchase.
VT, yes your PC will handle GPL no problems and the link Speed posted for the GPL Preservation Society Installer is a must to install it on modern systems.
I am also happy to help anyone to get GPL up & running once this is all sorted. :)

Heh, get enough folks with GPL and maybe we could organise some online racing. I had a run with Bluesman and the other blokes on Tuesday nights a while back but now Tuesday nights aren't such a good night for me anymore.

O.K. I have ordered 8 copies as requested & with discounts and reduced shipping the total = $43.44 GDP.
So with cost of postage for me to send to each of you, total cost should be around $12.00 AUS each. :)
I will keep you all posted on progress and advise payment details via PM once I receive them.
