I recently dug out GPL for a proper go for the first time since 2006.

I've made a new rank.

I used to be -30 in my heyday.
I'm currently +35 in the cooper after a few exploratory laps.

I did the same thing a couple of years ago - I was -65 at my best and it took me a week of practicing in the Lotus just to get back to -30 but unable to really stay on track for more than a lap or two!

I reckon I could probably get negative if I took one of the faster 3 but I'm quite enjoying tooling around in the coop at the moment. I joined up to UKGPL for the current season and started 14th (I think - didn't bother to qualify) and finished 7th at Spa only 30s down on the winner having put it into the hedge on lap 2 or 3 and needing a shift-R and a stop-go penalty. Was a 9 lapper. If I'd kept it on track I might have ended up nearer 4th or 5th I think. Not bad :)

Missed the 2nd at Albi as I was out. Next is Snetterton.

I've gone negative for the second time :D

Amazingly enough I've even beaten a couple of the times I did when I was -30! Most amazing of which was my ferrari monza time!

Yeah, really good, and you?

Been flat out with working 2 long days a week (20 hours) plus an hours drive each way. Still running the house, but the wife is working longer hours (about 55-60pw) and is usually away from home 1 night a week.

Been too busy to do any racing, but I'm giving work away early Feb to do some work around the house and look after the family better.

I was doing well until 2 hours after your last post.

I was home alone with my 6yo, Travis, as Dylan (8) was away on a Cub camp for the weekend and my wife had gone on a girl's weekend to Beechworth.

Then I got the phone call.

It was Dylan's Cub leader. He had fallen from a climbing structure and broken his arm. The ambulance had already been called, but he knew it was broken because of the obvious deformity. So I chucked Travis in the car, told the blokes that were respraying our roof tiles that I had to go, and 40 minutes later arrived with Dylan in the back of the ambulance, about to leave for Frankston Hospital.

We followed them there, and the Emergency dept. was just starting to fill up with it's usual 3pm Saturday influx of footballers. He got X-Rayed, which confirmed breaks in both bones of the left forearm. They were hoping to operate that night, but the had an emergency come in, so I off-loaded Travis to my brother-in-law, fed the animals at home, packed a couple of things and hightailed it back to hospital to spend the night sleeping next to my brave little bloke.

He went into theatre about 10:45am, where they put him under, straightened it and put him in plaster. Been home now for about an hour.

Apart from that, all good. :)

bummer about your boy Pig, hopefully he recovers well. My daughter broke her arm a year or two ago and thought the attention was a good novelty for the first week. Then it became a big hassle not being able to do stuff like showering properly or even being able to scratch inside it.

Not the phone call you want to get. My niece took a nose dive from a tree first night staying at her friends place, she was 8 or 9 I think. Broke her upper arm just below the shoulder joint. But because she was a kid it healed up fast and she doesn't seem to have trouble. So hope he'll be fine Pig.

Great that he's otherwise OK - must be a hell of shock to receive a call like that.

He's doing fine. Got him home from school today to keep the pain relief up to him and so he can get used to what he can/can't do himself.

Having 2 boys, I expect they will both probably break something before they are out of school.

I'm here.

Just been flat out with family and various things like school council, vp of the boys Little Aths Club, and became a Joey Scout leader which is sucking up an enormous amount of time. I will pm you later to get ip, and hopefully catch up second week of school holidays. Wife is working even longer hours so I am on my own with the boys til 7:30-8 each weeknight.
