The ARSE Series

Ok so Tuesday night is the first Arse series race and its 65's first up.

For tracks I was thinking these over the next 4 weeks:

Round 1: East London, Monte Carlo

Round 2: Charade (Clermont-Ferrand), Silverstone

Round 3: Zandvoort, Monza

Round 4: Watkins Glen, Mexico City

Points to be awarded : 1st = 9, 2nd = 6, 3rd = 4, 4th = 3, 5th = 2, 6th = 1

These are real tracks from that year's championship as well as the points system from that year.

No handicaps or drop your worse round as it makes for a pain in the arse.

So pick a chassis you wanna run for the next 4 weeks and go nuts!

Of course this is open to decussion so if you got any idea's let me know as we need to finalise things fast. :)

This sounds great, would really like to join along for this if that's alright. Been wanting to race on Tuesday nights but have been busy with some real life probs of late.

We tend to gather about 8:30pm in Igor in the arse chat room.

I think if we keep the race distance the same as normal then it doesnt become long and boring.

I wont get home till about 8:15pm as I have the joy of working! Oh yeah.

I'll be racing a Ferrari.

This certainly reinvigorates my energy to race, but to one and all, the arse end of the grid is my domain, keep ya bloody hands off.

Also like the same distance race idea, keep it simple and fun.

Lotus for me......Monte Carlo?????.....oh Monaco lol

About the points......like the way you've got em Doc but was thinking this.....we do have regular guys who race on Tusedays but some make it and some don't,

so was thinking of trying floating points......if there's 7 blokes then all 7 get points......if there's 10 blokes then all 10 would get points....how i'd do this is that each

position would get 1 point less than the position in front IE: 10 blokes- 1st gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9 points 3rd gets 8 points etc etc and 10th gets 1 point....

less blokes less points...7 blokes then 1st gets 7 points and so on.....also i think with a 1 point gap between each position it would make for a tighter comp.

just a suggestion......what ya's think??

1 more thing.......practice/Qualifying......standard 20min limit prac/Qual or Hot ARSE Qually?.......1 out lap and 1 flying lap Qually.

That points system sounds fair Blues. We might go with that.

As for practice/Qual. I'd say run a 20 minute session.

Sounds great Doc
You relise you are now the clerk of course
I reckon results and points should be posted,
so save the replay etc.

Lotarse for me as well

PS if you commit to series please stick with it until end

I'll be in the BT11 as expected.
I like the traditional 964321 points format. If you have more than 6, it will be a pressure race at the back to get the last point. If there are 6 or less, you can attack from 6th very hard knowing that you have nothing to lose and all to gain.
I also like the way that it rewards a winner, more than a second placer who is then rewarded more than the last podium bloke. It's like the V8s, why attack for a position when it only means 1 point?

PS. by the way Jamie, who's the tranny in your avatar?

Yeah that is me! Fark, if that was me, i'd be doing myself all the time.

As for the points, i don't mind Blies idea, so if the concesus likes it, then it's cool, but on a more traditional note, why award mediocraty, gives me incentive to improve my game if I have to target 6th place.

We will post results after every meeting as well.

Oh and yeah 20 min praccy/qual to at least give some people a chance to test the track if they haven't already done so.

Just realised that since it's Melbourne Cup Day, I'll have been on the Sauce since Midday.

In the unlikely event I get home in time it's probably not a good idea that I race :)

Just to clarify things, is next week's first track the first Clermont Ferrand (charad70) or the one that was done for the 65 mod (clermont)?

G'day and glad to have you along Pat! Another one to kick my ass :D

I have spent a bit of time tweaking my GPL install to fix several problems and it's now running smoothly in Open GL along with no sound issues (I was having crackling etc and I had to reduce the hardware acceleration to stop the high pitched whining) and it's made the whole experience sooo much better. Figured I would have a crack at Charade and man what a track! I had no idea it was as big as it is and it's a lot of fun too. Hopefully I won't catch air too often going off some of the corners

Hi guys, thks for the racing so far.

Just wanted to confirm if intention is to stick with one chassis for whole series, or if it is okay to change chassis between rounds.

No problems whatever is correct, just would not mind running different chassis for next 2 rounds
