Re: VTRacing's Rallying thread - Victoria Sucks.
Bummer! It looked so controlled, so easy. Then suddenly...I was really with you at that "whoa!"

Re: VTRacing's Rallying thread - Back to NZ
Hey folks, me again!
We're off to compete at the Rally of Otago again this weekend, in preparation for running the Pacific Cup as part of the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship.
The Otago is "only" a round of the NZ Rally Championship, but there are some super quick competitors running in some pretty special machinery. Hayden Paddon is back from a stint in the WRC, and he joins at least 3 other former NZ champions in the field.
And the rules for the series have changed, allowing virtually any modifications to cars so long as turbo cars run a 36mm restrictor (WRC cars and Group N cars run 33mm). Emma Gilmour has built a 4WD turbo Suzuki Swift, and other competitors have WRC replica cars, and one fellow is even running his Group B Audi Quattro!
Not to mention the classic cars, a huge lineup of BDA Escort and high powered Porsches, one of which is being driven by 2-time World Champion Miki Biasion. Neal Bates has also transported his classic RWD Celica across the ditch to compete against the locals.
Check us out on facebook (VTRacing has a page) or check out the results on the weekend at http://www.chrissport.co.nz/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Awesome work! Some tales to tell from Mr Biasion?

No tales to tell, really. Miki did well for someone who'd never driven a Porsche before, and who hadn't run on pacenotes for 20 years. Fabrizia Pons is a beautiful person.
Neal Bates & Coral Taylor took home the Classic Rally silverware, much to the annoyance of the Kiwis.
We finished minutes behind Hayden Paddon, but he's just on another planet.
And here's some incar showing how to be an also-ran at an NZ rally:

We were struggling all weekend for tyre grip because the temperature was low and the only tyres we had were medium compound.

Was about to post
Alas. Show some big balls with the tight turns. Particularly with that drop.
