cool racing videos

Post by w00dsy »

we might as well have a thread for some of the gems we find on youtube etc. I'll kick it off with a bit of F1 action from 87-93 along with some cheesy 80's metal tune.

Definitely my favourite looking f1 cars of all time as an era. There was a bit of '94 action in there too - the Simtek and Tyrell.

The first clip was cool as, i miss that era.
There was a really cool battle with Senna and Mansell at Silverstone, what year was that? 91 or 92?

Dex, 95% of the tracks in the first clip are still being raced at in F1's nowdays. I guess you mean the new tracks are no as good as the classics?
There were only a small handful that i noticed are no longer being used. Estoril, Paul Ricard, Adelaide, Old school Hockenheim & Mexico.

That is an awesome clip. Balls of steel.

The power slides at 1:55 & 4:05 (same corner) are just magic!

I forgot how fast a lap around Adelaide looks in comparison to the V8's :eyepop:

One of the best ever laps around Adelaide, with Senna.

(just cant find it without the commentary, i have this lap from the fishing hole with just the natural audio and its pure awesomeness)

i much preferred those old cameras, the position and shaking gave a more realistic view of what driver see's.

I saw another video of Setto in the wet on slicks at bathurst. It wasn't on board though and I can't remember if it was the skyline or not but it was fantastic.

Another wet racing video i like is this one between Perkins and John Bowe.

last 2 laps are fantastic!

Bloody hell these last two are fantastic indeed. Sideways all the time, all those corrections, just the right amount every time...truly amazing driving!
That last 2-3 laps is the kind of racing you want to see!
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

That Elise clip is the greatest plunge I've ever seen.
