Rossi won it last year as a rookie. It could easily be a strategy game that falls his way, Andretti are great at that kind of thing. They even got Danica a win based on fuel consumption.

Button has now been confirmed for Monaco. So the 2 retirees at Abu Dhabi are both back and Rosberg is the one gone.

What else are they saying over there about this Kev?
Force India boss Vijay Mallya has been arrested today in connection with charges of fraud and conspiracy in his native India.
Mallya has long been sought by Indian authorities in connection with dealings regarding his now closed Kingfisher Airlines business, and according to the London Metropolitan Police the eccentric Indian team owner has been arrested this morning under an extraction warrant from the Indian government.
"Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Extradition Unit have this morning, Tuesday 18 April arrested a man on an extraction warrant," say the Metropolitan Police said in a statement released today.
Vijay Mallya, 61, was arrested on behalf of the Indian authorities in relation to accusations of fraud.
"He was arrested after attending a central London police station, and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later today, 18 April."

How the latest setback for Mallya will affect his Force India Formula One team remains to be seen, however since Mallya and former business partner Roy Sahara have been dealing with their various legal issues the day to day management of the Silverstone based squad has largely fallen to his race team executives, including the respected and experience Bob Fernley.

Some other interesting things from the strategy meeting

-Drivers' names and numbers will be made clearer on all cars from the Spanish Grand Prix on 12-14 May
-Teams currently not on the strategy group - which has until now been restricted to Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull, Williams, McLaren and Force India - will be invited
-Controversial shark fins and so-called T-wings that have appeared on cars this season will be banned from 2018
-Next year, any race that is stopped with a red-flag period will be resumed from a standing start
-Measures will be taken to ensure that oil will not be used as fuel in 2018

There's a big suspicion that Merc have been using a bigger oil tank and spraying that extra oil in to the petrol mix for more combustion and so getting around the petrol limits.

I don't actually understand the more combustion thing. In Karting you generally go with less oil mix when chasing that 0.01% of power. Are they using nitro fuel as oil or something?

I imagine with the turbo chargers and gizmos that they can get the fuel/oil mix to combust more efficiently than you could in a cart.

3.5 litres of oil in a race? Fark! That is worse than my old '79 Sigma 2.6 normally aspirated 3 speed auto. 4 litres of oil every time I filled it with petrol. :D

How many starving babies in Africa could have been fed for the amount of money that Merc spent on developing that system to give them 0.000000001% more power huh :)
