6 1/2 hours of live coverage of watching Fred Alonso go round and round?! Fark!

Well at least they got the car colour right, unlike the F1 team.

I watched some of it live last night, he was comfortably progressing through the Rookie Orientation Program until I fell asleep.
He had perfect weather for it, no wind. The car colour looks great, I dug the design & colour of Alonso's crash helmet.
Can't wait to see how he progresses during each of the practices, qual & carb day ahead of the race later this month.
Fernando Alonso has past his first IndyCar test with flying colours at Indianapolis, claiming the "car was driving itself" after impressing onlookers.
"It is a good way to start to build the speed. It was probably a little bit difficult at the beginning to reach the minimum but then in the phases it felt good.
"At the beginning, the right foot has its own brain and it was not connected to my brain. I wanted to go flat-out but the foot wouldn't let me. But after a few laps it was fine."
"The guys make changes all the time to the car," Alonso commented. "On that aspect I am not up to speed. I am not yet able to feel the car because at the moment I am not driving the car, the car is driving me around." The circuit looks so narrow when you are at that speed. I was trying different lines but I was not as comfortable as I probably will be in a couple of weeks' time."

Not a great start for Alonso when they had to explain to him that he doesn't sit in the sidepod.

Merc have shown what the new bigger numbers and name tags look like on the cars from this weekend. Bigger numbers on the nose too I think.

orce India will work with the FIA on an acceptable solution for its Formula 1 car numbers after receiving a suspended €25,000 fine at the Spanish Grand Prix.

The FIA stewards ruled the team had not complied with instructions to make the numbers and drivers' names easily visible on the bodywork from the Barcelona race.

In a technical directive, the FIA had requested the car number should be clearly visible from the front of the car, no less than 180mm in height, and have a minimum stroke thickness of 30mm.

Although Force India increased the size of the numbers, the FIA judged that the positioning high on the nose were in contravention of the directive.
Trouble is the numbers and names are all over the place so if you don't know who a driver is you have to scan the car to see it. They should have a designated area where they go so it's the same on all car, like under the cameras on the airbox. Force India's main problem was that their sponsor is in all the good spaces they could have put it.
