MotoGP 2016 -spoilers I'm sure over the year-

Post by bengatta »

2016 started with a great race, but im pretty saddened by the podium presentation...

For those that have seen it id be curious as to your take on it....

I havn't seen either of the races yet , will try to watch a replay tonight if there is one on . Very pleased to see Thomas Luthi take the win in Moto2  , I'm a big fan of his .

Luthi is about all I like in moto2. The world seems a nice place when he wins... :)

Moto3 will be a cracker is always... Looks like one in particular has forgotten how to fall off and comes through FTW... :)

i don't know why but i'm having trouble getting excited by MotoGP this last year or so. I only watched 2 races last year, Australia and Sepang. I didn't even bother with the finale.

It's great because it doesn't have hybrid engines... :)

I got excited more by moto3 last year than motogp. I will start watching from Spain onwards.

No wildcard for Stoner to replace Petrucci. Shame... Race 1 was interesting to watch because of the changes to the tyre and ecu. Going to take a while to iron out the wrinkles but the Ducati is still the most powerful bike on the grid and they will win races this year. It's nice to see there are 7 or 8 guys who could take a race win this year. WTF happened to EsA? Vinales is schooling him on how to ride that Suzuki.

As with Pain, things will heat up from Jerez.

Yamaha FTW! fo' shizzle!

Lorenzo to Ducati... Vinales to Yamaha Racing. Shame for Suzuki. Hopefully they find another top tier rider to keep their development going and keep their name in the spotlight.

Guess that rules out a Stoner comeback, was probably never on the cards anyway.

Wonder how Lorenzo will handle the Ducati.

Where is the news of these moves? It's only round 3 and way too early for the silly season.

No news yet, Yamaha have made the first move by telling Jorge they need an answer on his contract by Jerez. Audi have come in to the fray by outbidding Yamaha to the tune of somewhere between 22 - 30 million AUD.

Aaaaand, Davide Brivio let slip in an interview during FP3 about Vinales moving to Yamaha.

Silly season started in Qatar, with Rossi signing on for two more years. KTM took Smith and Vinales was approached by Ducati, Yamaha and Honda after the first day.

Christmas gets closer every year in this sport.

It'll make it interesting in 2017, also with KTM coming in. Maybe Vinales going to Yamaha? I would expect an announcement before the summer break. Lorenzo and Stoner working together building on their mutual respect for each other as well as an eagerness to get Ducati a championship again not to mention their mutual dislike for Rossi.

2016 will still be fascinating to watch how Michelin develop as well as who gets their bikes sorted for edge grip the quickest. Honda seem to have made a great choice in tuning their chassis to the 2014 specification +. The engine is still super peaky so low grip tracks will make it difficult for them but it's the same then for Yamaha who have always relied on speed to and past the apex. Watch comparisons at Phillip Island later this year, we will see who has got their shit in one sock for 2017.

I would like to see Aprilia improve but can't see it happening with their current rider line up. Bautista has lost his edge and Bradl doesn't have that last 5-7/10's in him.

New blood coming in should be Zarco and Rins. Two very quick rookies, especially Rins if he stays fit.

Give Binder a MotoGP bike right now... Bottle his blood...

You know you've ridden a good race when spaniards applaud a victory of another nationality...

Only had to pass 34 other riders to take your first win. Ominous for the rest of the year.

Race of the year, no doubt. Notice any similarities? He has the same self belief of a young Aussie who used to race. Casey something?

That crash was weird. I think the track temp caught out tyre choice as there were so many front end tucks.

The crowd went nuts when Rossi made his passes. They were louder than the Italians!
