Well fuck me, the FIA agreed with me... Apart from Hamilton, im not sure how it was that different from Max. As for Rosberg, Max bumped him off so no probs there.

It was probably one reason why Lewis didn't get a penalty as by the rules he didn't gain an unfair advantage.
No.

So short cutting the circuit isn't an unfair advantage... And don't give me the bullshit line that he was in p1 so he didn't gain a place out if it.Duke wrote:Just remember that gap was also after Max & Rosberg hit each other, sending Rosberg wide & slowing each other considerably through T2.

oh, he had a flat spotted tyre, obviously that offsets his advantage.
Knappo, its a Joke. Formula 1 is a Joke right now. Penalties for all, apart from #blessed

Haha, "I made a mistake and ruined my tyre so I shouldn't have to drive as far as everyone else". If only Maldonado had figured this out, he'd be world champ.

Re: 2016 FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO
I honestly think these young driver programs are making these pricks spoilt brats. Not many of the front runners do the hard yards any more like the old days. They get spotted in karting and then gifted the best of everything until they get put into F1 and no one tells them no. They grow up as entitled little c**t* who never seem to be able to accept they've done anything wrong. The days of wheeling and dealing to get into F1, showing your worth in a mid field team, and making your way up into a top team is gone. Those guys like Hulkenberg, Nasr, Palmer etc will never get to step foot in one of the big teams. The fact that one of the most down to earth guys up the front came from Monaco as the son of a world champ says a lot about the other flogs.

Re: 2016 FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO
I've read this view point a few times from British fans and Diresta made it as well in the post race analysis.
It was ok for Loowis to make the cut because he didn't have anyone challenging him where as Max had Vettel lining up to pass at the time of his cut.
Ummmm, Loowis had the entire pack within range and had a lot to loose by fumbling back on line. If Loowis tried to make it back without blowing the grass he could have been cleaned up by the mid field.

Fia want a close championship. If lewis got a penalty and drops down the field and Rosberg wins then gains a bigger advantage. Hamilton wins they get higher ratings more money etc etc

Re: 2016 FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO
I guess cheating is ok as long as the person directly behind you is being bumped off the road. At the point Hamilton commited to short cutting the circuit the field had not even made the apex of turn 1...

Re: 2016 FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO
super Bias. pretty dissapointing.
Rosberg was only off track because he was bumped off. he rejoined as quickly as he could. Max gave him no room. as you said, lewis decided he wanted none of that and just zoomed across.

It would have been easy to just give Hamilton a 5s penalty in his pit stop.
I hope they stick a gravel trap there next year

Complete agree but, you just know it will be acres of tarmac with some sausage kerbs and some silly rejoin funnle like the last chicane at Canada...Big Kev wrote:I hope they stick a gravel trap there next year

Re: 2016 FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO
At least that would cause a bit of a delay in coming back on. Especially if they did a monza job with a polystyrene chicane so at least it costs you time.

Re: 2016 FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO
The other view point that doesn't make any sense to me is, the SC came out nullifying any advantage. Advantage, what advantage right...
Why should a SC which effects every driver be sufficient punishment for an individual cheating. There was no punishment for Loowis cutting the first complex and gaining an advantage. The SC was coming out regardless of his short cut due to the mid field crash, so where is the punishment for Loowis' infringement which Max scored for the same level of blatant short cutting.
There should have been a 5 second hold at his first stop. It would not have changed the result but at least their rulings would be fair.

it seems to me the British F1 commentators are nearly as biased as the Australian cricket commentators.Vilante wrote:That's a shit comment from Brundle.
Wasnt there a theory going around earlier that Lewis had had no luck this year and Nico had had it all. Well I hope I dont hear that again. Didnt Nico lose a position after a race for some infringement? had that not have happened, how would the points stand now?

pinche tramposo!
Max's cut doesn't seem as bad when you compare it to Hamilton's from this angle.

He went in to the corner leading & was still leading as he exited the corner. How is that gaining an advantage...?NeilPearson wrote:No he didnt, the safety Car negated that. /sr8response wrote:No matter how anyone tries to frame it, Hamilton got a massive advantage from cutting
