That wouldn't stop me :D I noticed when I was booking that there were a couple of single seats taken.

The missus said she'd go... But finding someone to look after the kids at midnight is a bit of a stretch.

Thinking back on it, it's a bit of a slow burn. The ending is amazing so leaves you with the right impression. Supporting cast are better than the main cast and the dialogue (apart from k2so) isn't as snappy as force awakens but the visuals are just so good - especially the new planets and original trilogy era tech.

Mick pretty much summed it up. Good movie but not my favourite episode. It took a while to feel like Star Wars even though there was plenty of signs it was the same universe. I didn't find the main characters overly engaging like Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren were, but K2SO was great. They have really nailed the droids.
The story line was solid. However I can't help but feel they were trying to give a credible excuse for why the Death Star was so easily destroyed in Ep4. Maybe because people have joked about it for so many years they felt they had to give a valid reason. Plenty of cameos from characters I didn't expect, especially because one of them has been dead for over 20 years. I wonder if the family gets paid a royalty for his likeness. The human cgi is 99% perfect, they just need to sort out a few issues with movement. Overall it was better than I expected.

If you haven't seen the new movie don't click on this... its a massive Star Wars spoiler.

That's a big spoiler montey.

I enjoyed it. Took me a long time to get into it.

I didn't like the music, it was was over the top and constantly in your face.

Yeah, its pretty massive. But I do like the way it describes how things flow around it and the pressure it would apply to anything attached to it.

It was trying so hard to be Star Wars without being Star Wars, until that black guy turned up then it went full Star Wars.

I thought the music was good. The sound track was the weakest aspect of episode 7 - no signature tune.

LMAO!!! Movie screen wasn't even on when I was sitting there posting that, right before switching the phone to silent... :p

As for the movie, I thought it was bloody good & worth seeing. For me it really did feel like it represented the period between EpI-III & IV-VI really well.
I also didn't find it slow but rather a nice build up to is crescendo much like Ep IV, it had the same style. Yes the the story-line was thin & predictable at times but what Star Wars isn't & obviously we have idea of what happened from other episodes.
[SPOILER]
The end scene was really something. Probably more so after the recent news of Carrie's passing, I actually got quite emotional from it & I'm not shy in saying so

Duke would you recommend it for someone that doesn't care about the "Star Wars" stuff? As in is it really a good movie rather than a "time filler" if you know what I mean :)

I only ask because I think it was the previous one I skipped through a bit but I have watched the older ones without skipping through.

It's almost a really good intro movie to start people off with the franchise. Then go and watch A New Hope next because it feeds into it really well. In fact it's almost seamless.

It's a great way to get into it. Go Rouge One the Episodes IV V VI and VII. Forget I II III unless you really really really want to see them. They do explain things but they are the poor cousins of the series.
