Stranger Things

Post by Nigel »

Netflix OS Stranger Things is pretty good. Rocking the 80s ethetic and 2016 realism. Classic 80s trops of evil government agentcies, divorced parents and goonies adventures.

Worth a look.

That it is can not wait for the next season..

Another one is Black mirror.

Three stand-alone dramas -- sharp, suspenseful, satirical tales with a techno-paranoia bent.
Some play it safe on the merry-go-round, others go for the thrills of the roller-coaster.

Bit late to the party but finished this last week. Nigel's first post is spot on, damn it was good.
Although I actually felt Winona's acting was pretty poor, especially in the first few episodes. The kids on the other hand seemed to really grow into their acting roles more than the adults.
Or maybe it was just me remembering back to my time in the 80's. :p
Either way I can't wait for S2, which has now been confirmed.

Finished it the other day.

I really hope they leave it at that. Those 2 seasons were brilliant. The kid actors, just tremendous.

Forgot to reply after finishing the current season. Once again I enjoyed it but also felt it could have been left there, yet the ending scene indicates it'll go at least another season or more.
Next season will need to start answering some of the more deeper questions otherwise I fear it will loose it's intrigue & just feel the same as the first 2 series.

I'm very late to this one, I watched the first couple episodes of S1 a week or so ago and have been crook the last few days so watched the rest of both series. I thought it was a great show, I liked that they were short at 8 & 9 episodes, it meant no fat, everything had meaning and I loved the way it all ties in together. Like a character like Steve, in a normal series he would just kinda fade away but he stays involved and plays a meaningful part through to the end. All the plot threads kinda swirl around but are never lost or forgotten and all coalesce and play their part.

It will be interesting to see where they go with S3, I was fearful S2 would end like a regular series with a cliff hanger but it was great how there was a proper conclusion.

Yes it's great & very unique but S3 will need to be very different if it is too succeed. S2 was far to similar to S1 but still good, they just need to avoid repeating the same threads.

Been rewatching season 1 - it really is very good television. Spookier than season 2 I reckon.

Yeah I'm planning to rewatch this at some point soon but this time with the wife as I think she'll love it.

Did anyone else think Will sometimes looked like Kermit the frog? Every now and then, with that bowl haircut there would be a shot of him and I'd swear he was Kermit :)
