Brilliant win by Jessica Ennis in the Heptathlon. Well deserved. She'll probably be made a dame for that! A great ambassador for the sport too.

North Korea vs South Korea Olympic Table Tennis Match - NBC USA failed to show this very important moment.

Tom Slingsby is looking good.

So are the 49er crew, the men's 470s and the women's match racing crew. All four are leading. We should know Slingsby's result tonight.

All is not lost rots. It could be a sailing-led recovery!

Sally Pearson will be good and Steve Hooker is still a chance.

Been a stunning Olympics for Team GB so far. The Athletics session last night was awesome. Brilliant performances in the rowing boats and bicycling but the footy team still can't win a penalty shoot out :shake:

The commentary, both UK and Australian has been a fucking disgrace. So much for not being biased.

NBC showed a replay of an equestrian event instead of the 100m final live. Amazing.

The triathon commentator referring to Erin Densham as a "nugget from Camden" was pretty cringeworthy.

Here's a comparison of the times of 100m medalists from 1896 to present.

The bride and I got around to watching the whole opening ceremony last night.

Was it mainly a demonstration of interpretive dance?

Did the UK freaks get it? So often I was saying "wtf is that about?"

Biggest highlight. Brad Wiggins ringing the bell. Holy fuck, that had me in stitches.

I didn't get a lot of the opening ceremony to be honest. Particularly the tribute to the NHS. I also didn't really see the point of the quiet bit in the middle commemorating the 7/7 bombings. Yes it was a tragic event but it's supposed to be a celebration of the country and sport. Didn't seem to be the right place to put that in.

But all opening ceremonies are like that.

The NHS thing confused me. A lot of the dance stuff confused me. The guys dressed like they were in a Dickens novel and then doing rap confused me. It just seemed disjointed. Visually impressive though.

I have loved everything Danny Boyle's done so tuned into the opening ceremony. I was dreading a procession of interprative dance but quite enjoyed it otherwise :D

I think I understood most of it; basically just a simplistic illustration of the major things that Britain has given the world: sport, music the industrial revolution, the welfare state, the world wide web etc.

I've never really bothered with the Olympics before but I must admit I've got right into this. I gave up on athletics when I was a kid after all the drugs scandals, as I just figured the competition was amongst the chemists as much as anything, which isn't very exciting. Watching these guys has completely changed my view. When you see how much it means, how proud they are to be there, how humbled they are by the crowds and support, how much work they put in, it just made me wonder why the fuck we idolise these overpaid and largley useless footballers. :(

I reckon I've watched about 15 mins worth of the Olympics this time around. The coverage is too jumpy, I just want to watch one sport properly instead of back and forth all over the joint. Probably doesn't help that the Aussies are absolute rubbish this time around.

A Dutch judo champion hit a man after she saw him throwing a plastic bottle on to the track seconds before the men's Olympics 100m final began.

Edith Bosch, 32, who won a Bronze medal in the 70kg category, said she reacted "in emotion" and hit him on the back with the flat of her hand.

Locog chairman Lord Coe said it was "poetic justice" that the man would be sitting next to a judo player.

A man was arrested on Sunday after a bottle landed behind the athletes.
