NFL 2011/12

Post by Duke »

So week 2 has just passed & I thought a topic on this years Superbowl run might get some good commentary from A.R.S.E.'s that love the game as much as I do.

So who else is a fan & watching games???

If you are how are you following it, TV (ONEHD or FOXTEL), Streaming, Podcasts, NFL.com, NFL Team & Fan Blogs?

Who's your team(s)?

What are your predictions?

For the haters amongst us best to say nothing if it's not constructive in some way hey...

My answers to above.

Plan to watch every game ONEHD broadcasts. Listen to affiliate network Pods (ESPN, CBS etc) & read http://www.nfl.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; & http://nfldownunder.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; pretty regularly.

Team: Philly Eagles (also like Detroit Lions)

Predictions: Green Bay will be tough to stop from winning it all again (Back 2 Back). Tom Brady will blow some records away & be MVP again. My Sleeper Team = Washington Redskins (my Father's Team).

If you interested http://nfldownunder.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; have a free tipping competition on http://www.footytips.com.au/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Read about the comp here: http://nfldownunder.com/features/announ ... pping-comp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you join it, you will find me as "Flinty" on footytips.com.au

Will start watching November 7 when we finally get OneHD!
Other than that I follow it via the BS Report and PTI podcasts.

And given the likely lack of an NBA season, I imagine I will be watching a fair bit of NFL!

The Pack for me. I am hoping they can go again. Been watching them on and off since I was teenager with my Pop. My brother picked me up a signed Superbowl shirt when he was in the states in April. I hope they can go back to back. Pre season for them was pretty full on according to Donald Driver's tweets. I wanted going to name my son Aaron but my other half said no :(

Tampa Bay are my 2nd fav team.

Have only seen one game so far this season, work timing's don't allow me to see much of the games.

My early prediction. Green Bay v Atlanta in the Superbowl. Patriots don't have the legs to run the full season and Atlanta are hot but I think the focus is too much on Vick. Maybe 12/13 they will take the win.

blah, blah, blah... So they should Neil at least the outcome of most games is not so contrived compared to what NASCAR does = rigged!!! It's not sport but theatre now. :(

Packers vs Bears coming up on the 26th. That'll be a good indication of where we stand early in the season.

Go Pack!

Yeah agreed. its nothing on what it was when i first started watching it in 2004, but still we are now in the "playoffs" and onehd just say "FUCK YOU"

Had enough of free to air tv. they want the people to watch, but just fuck them over everytime.

Some big upsets over the weekend by the looks of it. Would of loved to had $10 on the BIlls to win!
And the Eagles got rolled, and Vick has a broken hand? Been hearing all preseason that he would not last the season, that's not taken long to unfold!

Green Bay drilled the Bears. Woot!

Steelers have looked woeful all game. So far their Defence has kept them in it but their running game is average against an understrength Colts. They should consider themselves lucky if they win it. Also they cycled through 5 OT's this game, including putting rookie Gilbert from right side to left side to compensate for his shoulder injury. He had to return to cover for the fact they ran out of people on the bench.

Was looking forward to watching a lot more on OneHD but its on at weird times and without a HD recording device I have not seen much. Still enjoying following it on ESPN and did see some of Tebow - which was oddly captivating with the different offence they run and his less than perfect throwing action! I have never seen something in sport that looks so unconventional and where the outcome is so unpredictable as Tim Tebow dropping back to throw!

Weird times and they also seem to only show a select number of teams games. Seen about 6 ravens games but none of some other teams, i know some games are bigger but still sucks!
I just d/l my Raider games via torrent

Aaron Rodgers has won NFC Offensive player of the month three times this season already. The lad can play.

WHAT THE HELL!!

nearly every week the games advertised on ONE are in the wrong damn order, Tv and electronic guide both said Raiders game was at 4am so i set it to record, and its Pats v Redskins, luckily i recorded the game after which was suppose to be Cowboyss or something and its my game, however my ps3 had run out of f'n room so dont have it all.

I mean we are playing the Packers so a guaranteed loss but its the first Raiders game they have shown which i can watch in entirety rather than cut up downloads.
what the hell is wrong with ONE! :rage:

EDIT: how convenient, the "contact us" link on the ONE website gives me a 404 error :doh:

Anyone heard of Matt Flynn.

Watch this,

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-high ... highlights" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

2nd string Quarterback, Rodgers being rested for Playoffs. Amazing performance, 6 TD passes for over 400 yards. Not bad for a backup guy.
