We need more pitches like this. This is what I call a Test.

Or this.

High quality bowlers yes, but the ball is doing a bit, and the batsmen, who dont have enormous fucking bats either, are being given a torrid time.

The problem is, these days the crowds dont want to see this sort of battle, they want to see the ball flying over the fence once an over.

That's what T20 is for.

Same. I tend to remember great bowling spells over great innings. Ambrose in Perth in the early 90's stands out and those wicked in swing yorkers by Wasim Akram.

Hmm, so they seem content to try and bounce the poms out. The pom tailenders have been getting short ball after short ball. Fucking ridiculous.

Yes I agree, it was a stupid strategy. I went to the game and everyone in the crowd near us agreed..

Just bowl at the fucking stumps!

It's great to see Pat Cummins about to play his 25th day of test cricket in a series with no problems. Seems like he's waited forever with all the injuries he's had. If we can keep him, Hazelwood and Starc going, it would have to be one of our best fast bowling cartels we've had in years.

This Aussie team is one of those rare units where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts - as we saw in Melbourne without Starc (terrible pitch notwithstanding).

But fuck me the Poms are horrible to watch. Their entire approach is negative and defensive and has been for years, previously though they had the talent to make it effective, not so anymore. All they can do is try to bore the opposition into submission, there is no plan B - other than maybe hoping one guy plays out of his skin and carries them to a victory. Stokes and Root are the only ones who could really do that in Australia though and without Stokes, Root felt the pressure too much and wilted.

And I have never seen a team faff about so much. They have conferences for every bloody thing. Its cricket, its not that bloody hard, hit off stump and set a field to suit. It is a great sign that our guys did not simply try to blast England into submission this time and were prepared to grind it out, but the entire contest got tedious at times with England being SO defensive, Australia had no choice but to grind them down.

I would love to see someone kick the fuck out of David Warner. The fact that he is vice captain of Australia is a disgrace.

Yep.

It's not like Candi Falzon has honour to defend. I recall she was absolutely infamous in the Eastern Suburbs party scene for dropping her panties for any 'name' or fat wallet that came along.

Wouldn't surprise me if the South African lad had slipped her De Kock himself.

Anyone found to have knowledge of this who did not voice dissent and/or report them prior to the illegal actions should be fired (loss of contract) from Cricket Australia immediately. If Cricket Australia does not act in this way and in any way attempts to defend, mitigate, or justify their lack of action the Australian Government should step in and sack the board and anyone involved at Cricket Australia.

I have no problem with playing the game within an inch of the rules (pushing the limits of the rules interpretation), but cheating is something I can not accept in any form. Australia has screamed all too often when other teams (England, South Africa, Pakistan, etc.) have been found to have cheated; we must maintain a moral high ground on this sort of thing.

Damn straight Monty. As if Aust cricketers claiming sledging has gone to far wasnt hypocritical enough.

These players that are responsible should never play for their country again.
