rFactor won't launch...

Postby J.D. » Mon May 25, 2009 12:28 am

Crashed in the middle of loading and now it won't launch at all. Rebooted Windows but no difference.

Do I need to re-install? If so, what's the procedure?

TIA.

Thanks Woodsy. I tried it again last night and it still works. I had been trying to get into the F1 2005 mod when it crashed. Looks like that mod is porked.

One thing I found wit rFactor is that if you have any virtual cd drives or daemon drives etc. It will not load correctly and CTD. Took me close to two years to find that out lol. Even rfactor support couldnt find out. Then one day I found I had some virtual drives on my PC, deleted those, and hey presto it runs fine now.

Im running Daemon Tools right now and rFactor doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

Add -trace=30 to your rFactor shortcut. Start rFactor and it'll log a tracefile into your UserData folder. Copy and paste the contents in here and we'll see if we can't find a solution

Do you mean right click on desktop icon and select properties, then shortcut?

What then?

Correct.

My rFactor shortcut on the desktop looks like: "C:\Program Files\rFactor\rFactor.exe" +fullproc

"C:\Program Files\rFactor\rFactor.exe" -trace=30 Is how you want it to look. Then start rFactor, and if it crashes or not it'll log a trace file in "C:\Program Files\rFactor\UserData\"

Thanks. It crashed when I tried to use the F1 2005 mod. I have attached the log file.

Should I always leave the trace on the shortcut?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I have now downloaded the CTDP F1 2006 mod and am using that instead.

Now, if I can uninstall the 2005 mod...? Any takers?
