They seem to have made a pretty obvious decision to get ex-GPLers across to their platform.

Now would really be the best time to release, as CARS worked out, with a lot of people fed up with iRacing, though this is probably big enough to succeed regardless of what DK and crew do.
Looks pretty amazing, I doubt I will be an early adopter but can certainly see where the development has gone.

...wow they didn't bother to update the textures from rF1 did they?

But yeah, I agree it'd be about high time to release it. no worries, nkp is gaining momentum in the meantime since it's now finally patched up properly :)

Looks like one of the 60's mods for rF1.

it's wobbly, of course he could...

off topic but why are people fed up with iRacing?

I'll come back to sim racing the day it's not a chore to race my mates. LFS was still the easiest for me to do this. Now it seems I need to give a weeks notice. Probably the reason I swung to the console for a quiet gaming sesh.

iRacing keep releasing new broken content. They need to stop releasing content and fix what they currently have. but since they wont make $$ by doing that they wont. they released a New tyre model and its a complete failure for what was promised and for the amount of time thats gone into it.

Just a string of broken promises but I hold out hope! Still no viable alternative at this stage though.

New opticians appointment soon for you I reckon!

Trailer looks rather spiffing, be nice to see the eye candy they are talking about. Cars actually look like they have weight. Anyone able to see if the engine parts were moving? Like the drive shafts? Looking forward to more modern content... maybe 70's, 80's F1

It does look rather ordinary. There maybe moving parts, but they don't generate the "look" since the textures are still the old crap.
I've heard they use DX9 too. Well, it'll never look nearly as good as nowadays games do, and in a couple of years it'll look decidedly old.

It looked like there was an overexposed filter on the trailer or something. Seemed they wanted to make it look like GPL, and it looks nothing like the recent screenshots.

On the plus side, an official trailer means they should be on track for a Christmas release

Oh, and the flaggie's can't wave flag's properly :P

Looks nice. I wonder if they outsourced to the Monaco Rocks team. :tilt: I'll be grabbing it for the offline component I think. Hopefully it runs well enough across three screens.

Looks like it may be a good sim. Might be enough to get me to turn a few laps again. The gfx seem a bit dated though.

Is it because it has no whizz bang blurs and solar flares and shit on this video yet?

erm...have you seen C.A.R.S lately? That is today's technology. rF seems more like 5 years ago technology.

And I mean it *looks* like it. It may not be (hell it probably isn't) it maybe just due to very dated textures, I don't know.

Nah, there's just something lacking there. Compare that to something like BF3 and it's chalk and cheese. Only judging from that wip video, but it looks acceptable to me, far from impressive like most modern games.

Don't get me wrong, gfx are fairly low on my list of priorities when it comes to games. I strongly believe that advances in gfx have been killing gameplay for years. I'd rather see sims with older technology for gfx with stunning physics. RBR is old now, but that's still the most engaging sim I've played, and I still give it a thrash every now and then.

I've never been a fan of ISI's gfx. There's just something about their textures and lighting that feels wrong. The specular highlights on the car look like they should on an overcast day, yet the sun will be out.

Anywho, I'll give the demo a go and see if it grabs me. Those cars look fun to drive.
