Calling all older blokes.

Post by norbs »

Are you a gentleman on the wiser side of 35? Are you keen to talk about the old days, when Wagon Wheels were as big as dinner plates and the internet was something your grandad screamed at the prawns at long Jetty? Do you have nasal hair and a bad back? Do you love the adrenaline surge you get when you stand up to quick?

If you answered yes to all of the above, you are just the sort of bloke we are looking for for the LFS "Old Blokes" Comp, MkII.

If you are interested and have every 2nd Tuesday night spare, show your interest here. Lets show those those young fucks how to race with a bowls hat on the rear parcel tray and a woolen rug across your knees.

If there is interest enough (that is at least 10 starters), I will approach the Server gods about borrowing a server for racing and praccie.

Be aware. Qualifying is a single flying lap, where sledging is not only encouraged, but expected. If we find someone is too damned fast, they will end up with a car full of beeatches. Ugly ugly car skins are also high on the agenda. Cutter excels at this facet of Old Blokes racing. :)

I'm down for this.. had a blast last series (although I wasn't able to make every race, the blood pressure was getting too much for the old ticker), and it'll be great to get back to old fart racing again. :D

top idea, but not for me. Would be the same as if you ran a Nascar2003 comp. It would be enticing to be part of, but Im over LFS just as Im over NR2003.

happy racing

Guys, would love to take part if I still had a wheel or any interest in sim racing any more... :( I've even lost interest in real racing and knocked back a drive in the Dutton this year. How sad's that?

Well I am not as quick as Boxhead, so I am in.
Also it may not be every week but most :)

How about we 'young fucks' have a vote once this series has begun, to see who we think will win? :D

Looks like we will get to ten.

If you are interested, head over to the LFS Old Blokes forum to thrash out a format.

i'll be there like a cartoon cat. I suggested to Norbs today we might even manage an enduro later on where we each pick a young buck to do a stint for us as well. That could be fun.

Smith, grabs some vo-vo's, your tracky pants and flick on Oprah, cos you've obviously cancelled out the rest of your life. Stu, you can go to god's waiting room with him.

actually one of the reasons I wont take part is work. Im still into sim racing. But if I wanted an arcade race fix I would play NFSU.

You really should give it more of a go, Bauer. Is 2005 really the last time you raced online??

i must admit i was a bit suprised how much it had improved the last few months. I haven't really done anything with it since S2 came out as it didn't impress me that much, but now they have fixed the sounds etc it's much better. It's strength is it's onnline capabilities, i've yet to see another game that is as well thought out.

Bugger... I've fallen out of qualifying since the last comp coz you buggers moved the goal posts (or is it because I need my glasses).
