generally judges dont give out points, they just say who they think won the battle. (normally 3 judges)

obviously hitting hte car infront of you heavily (minor non affecting taps normally impress the judges),
spinning, no corner speed will ruin ur chances of winning a battle.

the judges also go wild if u put ur rear tyres out on the dirt and hold it there and drift into the next corner(not the whole car, just enough so the rears dip in the dirt)
, fast corner entry and exit speed, good drift angle, and obviously if youre chasing, keeping a close distance between u and the leader mid corner. And as u mentioned earlier, early corner entry.

this is what ive seen from option videos anyway :D

The behind camera should do the job,

As I mentioned in the replay, Hamal I feel the easiest way to judge will just be a simple, you won.
Once each run is over, all the judges are to type in who they think won, then you just add the judges votes together, so if 4 judges went for me, I would have 4 points, the other judge put down you.. you have one point.. then we repeat the process
A points system out of 10 from each judge would lead to heaps of complications, because you need to keep things fair between each run, I think its harder to do in LFS then in real life, my solution keeps it simple, but fair

ATM my computer is playing up somthing bad, I cant get through a windows install without it locking up, hopefully I can get one done before tonight, if not ill have to get someone else to lead the event =\

samoo great looking car, one of the best!

I'm organising it now since nutty's computer didnt go so well
It's going to be tough organising these brackets with 19 people....very very weird
ill try my best
however, the ozbee-r guys havnt set up the server yet so if it's not done by 8:30 we will move to the PR server
pass will still be the same

revised brackets are

http://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=131855

the last 3 guys Hzlab, Hamal and tofu will run a very weird style.
to make it semi-fair, we will run 3 2v2's and with the winner of the 3 going into the finals
now this will create 3 people finals. Depending on time constraints, we will either run 3 2v2's, then the top 2 run together for grand champion
or...if we're short, we will have 3 1v1v1's and winner from there.

have fun!

WOAH SPOONY....lol

I'm not competing dude, just jumpin in for a spectate later on, may possibly not even get there by the end, but hopefully i'll catch some...

So thats 1 less problem you have to worry about.. hehe... CHEERS!

Also, as far as i know JP racer is not competing either, he has cricket on, same reason i'm not competing.... So that cuts your 19 down to 17.. you just gotta shake off one more..lol

That makes sense :D

How about I just watch the runs and then give my vote, someone else can keep track of who goes where :p

Taken nutty's suggestions on board. Let's have fun guys :)

He doesn't think we are racing, just referring to our names instead of calling us the judges.

We'll have to have an expression session at the end so I can make a fool of myself imitating the competitors :p

Oh dear, seems he does have us down as competitors...

I'm going to be a judge in this event Spoon, soz mate.

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you finally have enough horsepower.

congrats to gusto

i understand (now) why the judges chose him in the final battles, cause he linked corners and had more angle, even though i had faster entry and exit speeds.

edit: if ur thinking of having a drift series, id love to be a permanent judge, that was mad fun.

worked well from start to finish.

only change i think that needs to be made. is 3 permenant judges. obviously the three won't be able to race. but at least there won't be any confusion as to whom is doing the job

great fun
the brackets weren't used because of constantly changing numbers
the replay is 4.6megs, so if you want it i can arrange something.

changes : tracks without straights ie some of the tigher sections on SO_town, or FE_club, first few corners of bwood reverse, FE_gold rev (could even start this one in the pits), even autocross.

another change : permanent judges, possibly even a teamspeak or ventrillo server to be used. so the judges can give better descriptions of why they think someone won (just a suggestion, just typing their name is fine, talking is just a bit more of a rofl)

Nice pic!

I agree with the judges, so it looks like the setup will be fine for a series

Before I announce it, I want to keep the numbers @ 16 drivers, so I need to find the best 16 drivers to join the series.

Any ideas? I was thinking of having a single shootoff, everyone who wants to join the series can come to a single run on a track, then we look @ the replay's and pick the best 16, dont really know.. just an idea.

what about a seed system nutty? say the top 8 from each round, get automatically seeded into the next round, the other 8 places are drawn randomly, so say if you have 10 guys wanting to get into the action, you randomly pic 8 to go into the tourney, and each of the new guys face one of the top 8 for the 1st round?

just a thought... but that way the only way to guarantee a place in the next tourney, is to be in the top 8, gives the opportunity for new blood to filter in

I have to say that's some of the best fun I've had for ages. Every single battle was edge of your seat stuff, very watchable. 'Specially as it was live :)

Still cant believe I won, with suspension damage that made the final corner entry a nightmare, and with an accelerator that spikes with zero pressure. Well done all, especially those who didn't quite make the judgement. Spoonsports vs me vs Samoo - wow.
