was thinking maybe a standard issue drift series that actually finishes at the end of the season as apposed to mid-season, and with clearcut guidelines and some judges that know what they are doing..i.e. not me..

I also found a really cool one for blackwood, but i want to tweak it b4 i think of having a FUN event.

The track (well 1/2 track) has been converted to a street with the placement of dashed white lines and 2 turn around areas.
Players drift in both directions, all of the road can be used until you sopt and on coming car. Then road ruels apply :D
U must stay in the LEFT hand lane when passin another car. I tell u, its a classic when ur in full drift in your left lane and an on comming car is doing the same and u cross mid corner

It was a blast on the server i found it on, i never had a head on accident as well ;)
Stick to the simple road rules and ya fine.

This idea/layout is more for fun than a serious comp tho.

EDIT: Ull notice the screenshot below were driving in the right hand lane. Dam Euro's :p
Left will be the go.

Quick screen from the action in that server, Wabbit & SEIZ were also there.
It was good fun, but they started to have battles and it wasnt the same on that particular layout.
I recall thats when the MPR guys and i bailed, lol.
Free for all is the way to go on that layout because of oncoming traffic :driver: :bigthumb:

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you finally have enough horsepower.

THAT WAS A BLAST, Thanks for hosting it SID
Street style drift like above but after a while we threw in a "Old Lady" in a UF1, & "Cop" to attemp to arrest the drifters

Just a few screens from a really fun session.

I am going to make a new layout based on this one but a lot cleaner and with slightly wider lanes. We'll hold a FUN Dooriftooo night in the next 1-2 weekends. It would be great if we could get a few guys in the server.
Traffic, Cops, Old Ladys in UF1's ect.

ROFL, YEP. Thats what i thought Petey.

Vilante, have u been using a Drift Setup or a race setup?
Race sets are really hard to drift. U can power drift em (exit oversteer) but full entry, apex to exit drift is very ard with them.

Next time we have a Dooriftoo session u should join us if your interested, practice is the main thing.
Aussie drifters (well the fella's inthis forum) tend to have more fun with this aspect of LFS compared to the Japs n Euros.

Just a bit of FUN other than racing all the time.

When I joined FMR Enforcer sent me a bunch of set ups which included some titled DRIFT so I've been using them :)

I'd love to get into a server and see how it's done, I'll keep my eye out!

Cheers

Watch this sub forum over the next 1-2 weeks as PeTeY and my self will be holding a street drift night on a similar layout to the above screens.
Just need to work the layout and PeTeY is creating some "Traffic" skins. Ie Taxi, Cop ect.

But if we have a Impromptu drift session and ur online, ie MSN ill chuck u a line :D

O yeah that layout was great fun, i'd be very keen to join the next "fun" session, as i'am no D1-ProDriftzMasterBlasterDriftoGod. (it seems to me, nearly every 2nd demo drifter has atleast something in his name to suggest he of the same blood as Keichi "Drift King" Tsuchiya) :D

End of my Rant, BUT i do enjoy a good slide

Started work on MY version of this "Street Drift" stage last night.
Im gonna use the whole road and divide it evenly, the lanes were just a bit to narrow for comfy drift. Its much better now.
The center lines dashes are also much closer together in the corners so the guy in the outside lane can judje his apex better.

I might also replace some of the signs with tyres as they actualy move when hit

Had idea when i was watching my mate drift the stage today, im going to set up a few "Cop & Taxi Bays" ;)

Any additional ideas guys?

Some Cop Taxi Skins :p .

They are basic because they are meant to provide contrast and be easy to tell apart ( and because i suck at making skins ;) lol )
