Sector3 Studios have launched a new version of their RaceRoom Racing Experience title.
Thew new update fixes multiplayer lags, introduces new physics for the Group 5 class and addresses some crashes with regards to the newly-released Nürburgring Nordschleife

Changelog

Update Highlights:
Fixed the join lag in multiplayer
Unlocked bigger grids for everyone in dedicated servers
Chat messages in MP are now yellow and allow 156 characters
Group 5 class physics update
Ford Mustang GT3 moved to GTR3 class

Game:
Fixed an issue with game finding wrong camera in pitlane.
Fixed so the game gets properly paused in singleplayer race monitor if the user opens the steam overlay. – Fixed a crash that could occur during loading.
Reduced memory usage when loading into a level.
Fixed an issue in Garage menu where FFB remained active
Fixed an exploit that allowed players to use lower fuel quantities in Leaderboard Challenges and Competitions.
Due to this exploit, we will soon remove entries that were created since the exploit was introduced.
Fixed an issue in pitstops where it would take extra 3-4 seconds after confirming 0L fuel or if the pit stop preset had no fuel needed. The game now it checks if fuel will be added, if not it cancels that action. If it was the only action, whole pitstop is canceled
Fixed cars full throttling at pitstops.
Fixed an issue where players were getting cut track penalties at pit entry.
Added missing fallback pages for DTM 2015 that was causing infinite black screen at launch for players when they failed to get the online loading screen.
Fixed issue with compact data display being positioned incorrectly on different aspect ratios.
Added default profiles and wheel ranges for Thrustmaster 150 and TMX wheels.
Added proper filtering to car setup load/save system.
Restyled the car setup a little.
Fixed an issue that was causing a crash at launch if the player had an older version of graphics.xml
Fixed header formatting for certain system backend requests that might reduce certain timeouts.

Multiplayer:
Fixed the severe freeze that occurred in MP when another player joins.
Added Bigger grids to player dedicated servers.
Please note the max opponent allowed depends on your track rotation. E.g. If you have a track that only has 24 slots in your rotation, that will be your max opponent allowed overall, despite having a track that goes up to 100. This is to ensure no one gets kicked out/disconnects when they choose to continue to next track. If you want 100 cars you have to make sure not to include a track with less grid slots available.
Please also note that the game becomes quite laggy after 40. While we will look into optimizing things, you should avoid setting a track with more than 35-40 opponents.
Fixed so the player is put on the Garage menu after pressing and holding ESC instead of having to press and hold ESC twice
Increased chat message max length to 156.
Changed message area/box text color to yellow so it’s more readable if the background is white.

Sector3 has announced that the next car pack for their RaceRoom Racing Experience title will become available later this week.
Simulation the 2015 season of Germany’s very popular national GT3 series, the pack will include seven different car models, one of which is brand new to R3E as the pack will introduce Bentley’s Continental GT3 car. The Continental GT3 made its ADAC GT Masters debut last season, facing competition from BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Nissan & Chevrolet. For obvious licensing reason, the pack won’t include GT Masters entries from Ferrari and Porsche.

The updated pack contains the mighty Nordschliefe released recently and retails for 2999vRP. As will all purchaseable content within RaceRoom Racing Experience discounts will be applied for those players who already own some content and you will not be charged for content you already own.

The European Track Pack contains 19 unique locations:
1. Paul Ricard
2. Spa-Francorchamps
3. Hungaroring
4. Salzburgring
5. Nordschleife
6. Sachsenring
7. EuroSpeedway Lausitz
8. Hockenheimring
9. Nürburgring
10. Norisring

19. Red Bull Ring Spielberg

In other news Sector3 have confirmed the next update will bring R3E full integration into the Steam platform, bringing changes to the way the game handles player accounts.
Full details can be read in the official Sector3 statement below:

"We are preparing for an update that will go live in just a few weeks. There is one important change that we need to notify you guys about.

The upcoming update will change the way we handle player accounts. RaceRoom Racing Experience will fully integrate with Steam and players will no longer have to go through a registration form or have to use an email and password for login.

After the update new players will get an account generated automatically with their Steam and existing players will login with Steam automatically instead of using email and password.

This change requires that the existing accounts have logged in to the game at least once so that their account has been associated/linked to their Steam. Please note it is not enough to log in to our portal via a web browser.

Another change due to this update is that the "Switch Account" option in the account settings will no longer be available. This option was allowing players to "de-associate" their accounts so they could use the same R3E account with another Steam account. This will no longer be possible. If you are a player who were using this option, please make sure you are associated with the account you want to keep by June 14th."

Sector3 Studios has deployed a new update for their RaceRoom Racing Experience title.

As usual, the patch contains many fixes and improvement for the core game and a list of visual tweaks. Fanatec pedal owners will be pleased to hear that RaceRoom now supports the Fanatec pedal vibration feature.

Furthermore, the RaceRoom Racing Experience login flow has changed as Sector3 now integrated the login procedure with the Steam API. New players will no longer have to register an account with e-mail. Game accounts will be registered with the user’s Steam ID. Existing users will automatically be authenticated with Steam details.

RaceRoom Racing Experience 30-06-2016 Update :
Highlights:

Added garage phase to Multiplayer. This is a 60-second phase before race to allow players to change their car setup and fuel.
Changed login flow and integrated with Steam Web API. New players will no longer have to register an account with e-mail. The game will create accounts with the Steam ID and existing users will automatically authenticate with Steam details.

Game
Added support for Fanatec pedal vibration. Players who have a Fanatec pedal set with vibration can tweak these via the controller file.

FFB pedal throttle vibe zero magnitude = 0.01 // Throttle pedal vibration at 0rpm (reference point) can be set between 0 and 1.0
FFB pedal throttle vibe slope = 0.15 // can be set between -99999999.0, 99999999.0
FFB pedal throttle slip vibe= 1.0 // Throttle pedal vibration on tire slip. can be set between 0 and 1.0
FFB pedal brake slip vibe= 1.0 //Brake pedal vibration on front tire slip. can be set between 0 and 1.0
FFB pedal brake vibe slope= 5.0 // Slope for brake pedal vibration based on speed and braking %. can be set between -99999999.0, 99999999.0

Fixed an issue where the game could crash while loading a replay.
Fixed an issue where game was adding fuel in liters instead gallons while refueling during pitstop.
Increased controller axis movement threshold used when detecting input (so that the player has to press the axis 90% down before it gets bound in options).
Removed the now obsolete manual login screen, modified error screen and added retry button so the player can retry login instead of having to exit the game completely to retry.
Added potential fixes for freezes that were occurring when game was trying to save replays.
Removed fuel multipliers from DTM 2015 as they were causing issues in Championship.
Fixed an issue where cars started without brakes if player skips the first race session in a 2 race format race.
Fixed speed of background music changing after watching a replay.

Multiplayer
Added garage phase to Multiplayer. This is a 60 second phase before race to allow players to change their car setup and fuel. The garage phase ends either at 60 seconds or when all players have readied up by pressing Race.
Added a new setting to dedicated server called “Non Ready Pitlane Start Delay”. If set to 0, players that failed to press race before garage phase ends, gets put on the grid as normal. If set to any other value, the player starts from the pits as penalty and cannot drive until that value in seconds has passed.
Fixed an issue related to slow responses from/to servers that fixes cars continually remaining at ping 0.
Added potential fixes for connection issues that were causing some players to get disconnected.
Fixed issue with session timer being off by 10-16 seconds sometimes, and not counting laps done within that time.
Fixed an issue with drivetrain oscillation calculation that was causing inaccurate torque values in Multiplayer, causing cars to flip and float around unnaturally when elapsed time was reset to synchronize time.
Fixed issue with being unable to change gear after walkthrough phase in Multiplayer.
Fixed issue with “Waiting for Server Response” popup sometimes showing up and remaining on screen, after joining a multiplayer server.

Sounds, Cameras, Physics & AI:
Fixed handbrake pressure being null on cars with recently updated physics.
Fixed Honda Civic rear view camera.
Added new TV Cameras for Nurburgring, Mid-Ohio, Zandvoort, Sonoma Raceway.
Fixed a case where player was given a cut track warning when entering the pitlane at Bathurst.
Fixed a couple of garage spots at Salzburgring that were outside of the pitlane limit.
Fixed a congestion issue when all AI’s would pit in simultaneously at some of the Nordschleife layouts.
Increased fuel use estimations for most of the track layouts to a safer level, addressing all issues where AI’s wouldn’t embark enough fuel to complete a 15 minutes race session.
Nurburgring: Merged cut rules between difficulty levels.
Monza: Fixed issue with AI not pitting.
Laguna Seca: Fixed issue with AI not pitting.
Zolder – Fixed AI hitting pit exit sign when leaving pits in practice and qualifying sessions,
Mid-Ohio Turn 1 – Made the cut track rule less strict.
Added bigger grids for Suzuka, Hockenheim, Hungaroring, Slovakiaring, Monza, Laguna Seca, Norisring, Nurburgring, Oschersleben, Lausitzring and Raceroom Raceway, Mid Ohio, Moscow Raceway, Shanghai, Zolder.

Art:
RaceRoom Raceway: updated the tarmac, mapped the groove better, and various small fixes
Tatuus F4: made brake disks visually bigger to better match the real car.
Brands Hatch – Various art fixes and visual improvements.
Chang – Various art fixes and visual improvements.
Hockenheim – Fixed DTM pit stall being behind wall.
Indianapolis – Fixed missing collisions on some road surfaces, improved collision walls placement so they match concrete walls properly, closed some gaps between fences, added some tire walls.
Monza – Fixed trees clipping through sign and the flickering Hyflex banner after 1st chicane
Nurburgring – Fixed an issue with some of the curbs.

Portal & Backend:
Changed login flow and integrated with Steam API. New players will no longer have to register an account with e-mail. The game will create accounts with the Steam ID and existing users will automatically authenticate with Steam details.
Removed Switch Accounts option from Account Settings.
Removed Password change section in account settings as it’s no longer relevant.
Removed change email button. Email can be changed on the field itself and will be highlighted if it’s not verified.
Added email validation to competition launch. We no longer require e-mail for a player account but a valid e-mail is required for competitions.
Fixed an issue where hidden content used for a competition was appearing in regular car selection menu.
Added a check on login for owned DLC’s so the refunded DLC’s will no longer remain owned.
Fixed an issue where an error would appear after purchasing a track through the Multiplayer browser.
Fixed so the purple server entry in Multiplayer browser refreshes immediately after purchasing the needed item, instead of player having to back out and re-enter the browser to refresh.

After hinting a new Mercedes license on Twitter last week, Sector3 Studios has now officially announced that they have successfully licensed the Mercedes-AMG GT3 to become part of the RaceRoom Racing Experience GT3 class. Together with the BMW M6 GT3 and the McLaren 650S GT3, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 now is the third new GT3 car in production for the RaceRoom Racing simulator. At this moment, Sector3 Studios did not yet reveal any details or release date.

Some RaceRoom Racing Experience users have encountered issues with loading the game following a recent graphics driver update, not allowing the game to fire up either directly through Steam or from the desktop game icon. Sector3 have been quick to respond and released an unscheduled hotfix patch aimed at addressing the problem. Early feedback suggests the hotfix released yesterday has been successful and access to RaceRoom Racing Experience has been restored.

18-08-2016 Hotfix changelog:
Fixed an issue related to display adapter information that was causing game to not launch with the recent graphics driver updates, specifically the Windows Anniversary update.
Sector3 Studios have also announced the new 2016 Audi R8 LMS will be joining up with the BMW M6 GT3, McLaren 650S GT3 and the Mercedes-AMG GT3 in RaceRoom Racing Experience, bringing yet another next generation GT3 car to the sim. Release dates are not yet available for this, or for any of the previously announced new GT3 cars.

Sector3 Studios has announced that the world famed Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit will become part of the RaceRoom Racing Experience track portfolio.
Track artist Alex Hummler who you may know better as Com8 was already working on the track but he had to put the project on hold in order to finish the RaceRoom laser scanned Nordschleife. Now he is back on the job and shared the first in-game preview screenshot. No exact release date has been communicated, but the track is expected to become available later this year.

Sector3 Studios Producer Sonat Ozturk has revealed some early details regarding the next patch for RaceRoom Racing Experience, revealing some interesting insight into the direction of the sim going forward.

Sector3 long ago announced their intention to no longer build "Experience" packs as seen with the ADAC and DTM add on packages for the sim. As this was implemented in RaceRoom, the segmentation of content and difficulty navigating between differing online lobbies has caused some concern amongst the community. Coupled with the fact that features found in some experiences haven’t yet filtered into the main game, Sector3 decided the idea had run its course and become redundant as RaceRoom has developed.

In a comment regarding when the next patch will be available to download, Producer Sonat Ozturk confirmed the team will be "phasing out experiences and thereby adding and exposing more session settings to RaceRoom". This is good news for fans.

However the news from Sonat that Sector3 will be "adding and exposing more session settings" is a much needed boost to fans. With such a diverse amount of content currently in game, many players have been calling out for session setting functionality, things like reverse grid races, two race formats and driver swap amongst the most often requested.

No official confirmation of what exactly will be added / removed from the update has been forthcoming as of yet, however Sonat did go on to mention "The patch will have things like ipv6 compatible netcode... "Revamp of portal store along with new implementations that just improves the store overall. Tidied up and added more stuff to shared memory (which also broke all applications using them). And more"

Probably due to be deployed some time towards the end of September, the new patch, if it includes just some additional session settings in the main game, will be a good step forward for the RaceRoom offline Experience. With a spate of recent content announcements, things look bright indeed for this often underrated simulation.

Sector3 Studios proudly announced that the 2016 Audi Sport TT Cup Season will be coming to the RaceRoom Racing Experience simulator.
While the 2015 season of the Audi Sport TT Cup is already available as the virtual DTM-supporting spec series, the new 2016 add-on pack will include all the liveries of the current season.
Furthermore, the RaceRoom development team managed to gather some more vehicle data and actual telemetry of the car resulting in overhauled physics files and an updated 3D model. Most physics changes have been implemented after comparing some real and virtual laps.
Sector3 Studios did not yet announce the official release date but hinted that the RaceRoom Audi Sport TT Cup 2016 will be available very soon.

Sector3 Studios have announced another addition to the GT3 car lineup of their RaceRoom Racing Experience title: The Corvette C7 GT3-R.
Build by Callaway Competition, the C7 GT3-R is Corvette’s newest weapon of choice for GT3 competition, replacing the trusted Z06.R GT3 in various national & international GT3 series.
As usual, the studio has not given out any details on when the new car will be available for purchase, so stay tuned for more information.

Sector3 Studios have previewed a new Depth of Field (DOF) effect due to be added to RaceRoom Racing Experience in the upcoming new patch, showing off a surprisingly effective visual enhancement to the title.

Depth of Field is nothing new to racing games, however this particular post processing effect has been missing from Sector3's flagship title until now, and as the preview images show, its inclusion has a devastatingly positive effect on the game visuals. Sector3 have confirmed DOF will also be available in Free Camera mode (although players will have the option to disable the feature if they so desire). When enabled, players have the ability to enable "Manual DOF Mode" using a pre mapped button, giving the ability to adjust the DOF width, position and blur intensity using a mix of both the mouse buttons and scroll wheel. Understandably DOF settings will not apply in cockpit view.

The latest update is still in under testing and development, with no confirmed release date other than the customary "soon".
