A demo just came out but I haven't had time to try it yet.

Looks Simbinish? Is it? Would certainly explain the death of GTR 3.

Yep it's Simbin based on their new Race Room Experience engine but is a seperate game / install.
It's a little unclear at this stage if it will be incorporated into RRE but apparently the demo has no multilayer.
Not sure if I'll try it yet.

Jiminee, GTR 3 turned into Race Room Experience.

Saw this thread. got excited as I had never heard of this coming.

Downloaded it

Installed it

Played it - but not that much really

Uninstalled it.

I dont know what I was expecting but after a few laps of this I went and did a few laps in iRacing (something I have not done in ages, even had to put the wheel back on the desk today) and realised very quickly that this is not the sim I am looking for.

DTME 2013 full version has been released.
Seems you can either purchase within their RaceRoom Racing Experience Portal for 5000vRP. A 5000vRP package costing ~USD$52 or around AUD$57.
Or for EUR$39.95 (~AUD$60) direct download here: http://store.dtm-experience.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (I guess this is if you don't have or want R3E.)
If purchased before 31 March 2014 then DTM Experience 2014 will be free access also.
DTM 2013 contains the 3 DTM marques of BMW, Audi & Mercedes & all 9 tracks of the 2013 season.
- The 9 official DTM racing tracks from the 2013 season: Hockenheim, Brands Hatch, Red Bull Ring, Lausitzring, Norisring, Moscow, Nürburgring, Oschersleben & Zandvoort.
- The 22 official DTM cars of the 2013 season
- 3 difficulty levels (Novice, Amateur, Get Real)
- 5 game modes (Single Race, Championship, Leaderboard, Challenge, Track Test, Online Competitions)
- DRS Function (Drag Reduction System)
- Including DTM Experience 2013/14 Season Pass
(Access to the coming DTM Experience 2014 and Online Multiplayer Mode for all buyers until the 31st of March, 2014)

I find it interesting that DTME 2013 has AI racing on it's initial release while it is still not implemented in R3E.
So I am hoping given they pushed DTME out so quick that the AI model may come to R3E quicker now.
The pricing seems about right compared to R3E prices but $50 is a big investment for what is essentially just an add-on pack. Although MP doesn't seem to far off being released.
Also I believe there is no ability to transfer content between R3E & DTME nor any suggestion there will be in the future. I hope it does but given the DTME/DTM license I can't see it happening.

DTM Experience 2014 is nearing release & will see the introduction of pit stops to the simulation.
Previews now give us some details on the pit stop functionality, revealing that DTM Experience will properly simulate all aspects of the DTM’s pit stop rules.
That includes two mandatory tire compounds which have to be used during the race, adding a new strategy element to the title.

DTM Experience 2014 has arrived for RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E).
DTM Experience 2014 features not only all the teams and liveries of the 2014 season but also the new BMW M4, pit stops (single player only for now) and two sets of tire compounds.
Also DTM 2013 content is now unlocked in R3E.
