Regular GT legends meetings

Post by ysu »

As we talked about it today between the races, we should hold regular ARSE events,
proposed day was monday as best for server owner :-)
9-ish maybe?

This was some intense fun, very close, great racing, little bumper-rubbing...just heaps of fun!!

Hope we neet again next monday!
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

was some awesome racing...

Pity about the high ping crowd... made for some interesting driving, and made the rest of the cars quite difficult to race too...

Not for long tho... :)

Yep had huge fun tonight.
First race was a bit iffy with all the overseas driving wreaking havoc with the ping. I'm sure that is what caused the start bug. Oh, & Sin nudging me off onto the grass on the last lap so he could go past. ;-). After that we passworded the server & had another half dozen races, it was rock solid. Very cool.
Probably like to organise a longer (20 laps or so) password race on a Monday night.
I'm sure we'll have no trouble filling the server.
I reckon TC 65 cars at Nurby Long 20 laps. Any thoughts.

yes i too had fun tonight, i found the server to be very stable after it was passworded.
I am also very interested in a regular weekly meets.

I propose for the first couple of meetings a one make race (say Alfa's)....this hopefully will provide some close raceing

Give me a break dude, i was getting more pop up than a porn site... :P

Besides that 3 way battle at the end was pretty fun

Never had that problem before, but it made the driving interesting... The little red alfa that was racing us, i was seeing two of them, and i drove thru a car during qual, i didnt even lose a km/hr as that happened...

Dont worry speed, i will be more than careful when its Aus only.

Just kidding Sin, our 3 way dice was soooo close & the lag pretty bad in that particular race, a touch was bound to happen.
For those that weren't there, 3 of us crossed the line side by side. Sin won by 32 one thousandths. Was fuckin' awesome.
The red alfa was Staffy.
Acerlyte, I've raced against you plenty of times & I know that you're very fast & very clean. I changed my player name from Warren to WJ. Someone else is using Warren & I don't want people to think it's me if he starts crashing into them. :)
I reckon an all Alfa race is a good idea. It certainly wouldn't hurt to try it.

yeah, single make is a good starter idea.
And thanks for the hosting, Staffy!
Altho instead of nurby I'd rather race another track, like Spa or Donington (I loooove doni) But I'm happy with whatever we chose.

Actually a small series of shorter races like today is fun, and everybody can have a chance on tracks one knows better, so I'm happy with that too.

if these race's are on the monday night as you are suggesting. i won't be able to participate.

the OzBee blokes hold the MNR series on the same night, and i rather enjoy the close, clean and fun racing that ensues. pity i rather like GTL

Heaps  :D

And I need help, I'm being beaten by a woman regularly.
Her name is Michelle and she's driving like a maniac. She's a real pro.

Yesteday we had a 6-lapper at donington in the alfas (again), this time I was chasing her around for the full 6 laps. I was following her bumper to bumper almost all the time, it was just great!!! :)

I'm sure that the server will be up most nights.
Unfortunately I think that that senario could tend to dilute the fields.
I thought Monday would be best for Staffy as he is in between seasons with his league & Monday was his regular race night.
Tuesday & Thursday are out for me, so how is everyone with Wednesday?
We can always do Monday & Wednesday as more official meetings.

While I also like the idea of doing lots of smaller races I know that some people work craploads of hours & may enjoy being able to learn just one track & not run off at every corner.

What about if we run Monday nights as shorter races at different tracks & Wednesday a longer race?

We can only experiment I guess, & see what works.

Yeah Wednesdays probably wouldn't be a good day for me for the above reason. I am cool with Monday nights though :)

Ok thanks for the info.
Any night except Tues & Thurs is good for Michelle & I, (Tae Kwon Do training), & eventually Monday is gonna clash, (prolly Feb), for most of the Westerners, (not myself), Wednesday is out.
I propose that we start with Monday & decide as we go along, change when it does clash. :)
What are your your thoughts?
Are Fri, Sat, Sun taboo?

Could anyone interested please email me & I'll try to set something up that suits the majority of people.
Include favourite night, cars, tracks, laps & any good suggestions that you think could be fun.
Thanks. :)

At least until someone wants to do something more proffessional.

Finally got my new router & ADSL2+. Everything seems fine, so I'm thinking of doing a 20 lap Zolder race on Monday night for Cortina's & Alfa's.
If we use the following schedule it should finish up about 10:30 EST.
9:00 - 15 mins praccy
9:15 - 30 mins qually
9:45 - 20 lap race.
That way we should be able to get the most possible players.
I'll wait for your opinions & prolly post on ASRG, Austeam, & SWIS.
Could be fun.

Testing my server now. Game name ARSE, PW gday
