You'll be fine on the 970, just wait until you try the VR porn!

Not sure how that compares to a r9 280x but I suspect they would be similar. My old 280x ran it, but it wasn't as smooth as it should be so grabbed a 1060

I'm close to laying down the money and getting one. But can't help but feel the amount of games I'd play is extremely limited and it'd end up sitting on the desk unused for long periods of time..
And Dex, you need to move away from photobucket.

I scrolled back a page or two, but I'm not sure what you're referring to. I don't think I've used photobucket for a long time. I saw a few weeks back on a forum that it was no good for hosting anymore. Anything I posted using it would have been ages ago.

And the oculus isn't for everyone. I was lucky enough to have access to them for quite a long time, and experienced a lot of the games etc. I guess I was well and truly aware of how much I would to wouldn't use it. At the moment I have it hooked up to the sim rig. But it's best if you have the space somewhere for standing experiences and room scaling.

My mate ordered his 24 hours after me and still hasn't been shipped yet. We've had ours for like a week now?

Oh right. Must be the sig. I almost never read/post from a PC anymore, so I never see it. I'll get on and delete it from my profile at some point.

Is this referring to photobucket or rift?

photobucket. They recently disabled remote image embedding without notice and said anyone who wants it use it has to have their highest tier, $399/year subscription.

Yeah there were people with years worth of blogs destroyed, and the only way to get them back was to pay the massive subscription price. I can't see photobucket surviving too long now.

I got a weird email from Oculus saying they had info my Oculus password was potentially compromised. text was "The Oculus team has detected that your Oculus password may match one obtained from another website. We’re not aware of any evidence that your account has been compromised or information misused, but for your security we've invalidated your current password and request that you choose a new, unique password for your account."
I checked on reddit and others received that email and seemed to think it was legit. I changed my password (not using the link that came with the email, but going to Oculus website to change password), but it was a weird experience. Anyone else seen this? I haven't even used my rift yet, as the house is still all in pieces during the exptensions.

I've not seen this. Maybe they got hold of one of a password list that's been shared on the interwebs and found your email listed for a different site with a matching password. That other one is the one you'd want to make sure you change!

I haven't seen anything like this either. Could it have just been a phishing expedition?

That's what i suspected, but the reddit thread seemed to suggest it could be legit. Weird.

Ah, OK, then yeah, I'd be looking to change passwords on as many sites as I could (at least the ones I cared about).

Might be a good time to move over to a password manager and generate new passwords for all your logins.
https://www.enpass.io/ This is what I've been using for awhile now.
