More from Fanatec. The 2nd vid is supposedly a close to production prototype of a Handbrake they've been working on for a couple of years.
Seeing these recent development posts & vids makes it hard not to eventually head down the path of purchasing their CSW stuff.

I don't like the way that handbrake connects to the pedal base. That looks a bit flimsy to me. Of course you could get the USB adapater for $23 to work around that.

I want to get that phone app up and running.. I wonder if this would do the job to hold it in the right place?

My Nexus 7 mount is from ARKON.
They have some very solid mounting options for tablets.

Finally got around to installing the Richmotech LC27 Load Cell Brake Conversion today, but mine is the original (V1) not the new V2.
V2 looks like it might address a lot of the real fiddly bits I had to deal with today around how it all connects but the install wasn't too hard anyway.
Although I'm a bit peeved V2 came out just after & adds some new features which could make it even better... damn it!!!
Here's a work in progress shot, didn't time myself but I'm guessing it took about 75mins taking care & being methodical:
Image

So did a couple of hours practice in AC & really like it, braking is more controllable with way better modulation even with the very short throw that this mod is known for.
ISR nailed it well in this video which is the V1 model.
I'd recommend it for anyone with a G25/G27 pedal set wanting to make the cheapest leap to load cell braking.

Fanatec release ClubSport Porsche 918 RSR Steering Wheel.
Fanatec revealed a new rim for their high end Clubsport Wheel base. An officially licensed replica of the steering wheel used in the race version of the Porsche 918 RSR. While a lot of replica rims in this market are scaled down, the dimensions of the Fanatec ClubSport Porsche 918 RSR Steering Wheel are 100% identical to the real unit. The wheel is about 30% lighter than the BMW GT2 rim, resulting in a more defined force feedback.

Replica of the steering wheel used in the race version of the latest Porsche supercar: Porsche 918 RSR .
The realistic diameter of 320 mm allows precise maneuvers and smooth driving
Officially licensed by Porsche

ABS vibration in the wheel and on the (optional) ClubSport Pedals for all games
Change the linearity in the steering axis to get the precision of a 900° wheel and the fast movement of a 270° wheel
Add some artificial dead zone to avoid shaking on straights if needed
Customize the force feedback sensations by changing the spring, force effects and dampening forces

I am setting up full scale plans to share based on the RS1 model modified, that can be cnc cut or cut by hand. Here's a preview of it unfinished. Plans will be ready in a couple of weeks.

My project today, build a short(er) throw shifter for my Thrustmaster THR8S shifter.
I used a 6x100mm coach bolt which required quite a bit of packing out for the SAAS shifter knob to fit. Then added 6mm clear tube to cover the shaft / thread to ensure smooth & quiet shifts.
Pics below hopefully show the difference which resulted in a 30mm lower shifter knob. It works great & is much quicker than the stock shifter which now feels like it's from a truck. :p

How are you finding the shifter anyway, my g27 one when i am in 1st and 2nd it jumps between those gears and 3rd and 4th (without moving it from 1st or 2nd) and it is starting to be super regular and really fucking irritating

The Thrustmastet shits on the plastic G25/G27 toy shifter.
Saying that I still have my G25 shifter on the lefthand side for the limited times I drive a simulated right hand drive car.
But I prefer the Thrustmaster, especially now I've made the short throw shaft.

My G25 shifter suffered from that kind of thing not long after I got it years ago. A bit of Google-Fu revealed that Logitech had skimped on the length of a few wires inside it that were now breaking their solder connections as the stick was moved from position to postition. I found a blow by blow somewhere on the web, and as it turned out, it was not much of a task to replace the short wire with a longer one and refresh the soldering. Been sweet ever since.

Fanatec have updated the mechanism in their Clubsport shifters. That might be worth your consideration if your Logitech one is dead. I experienced the problem you describe after abusing my G25 shifter for 4 years of MNR - it just turned out to be plain-old knackered in the end. The pots were completely spent.

I think that once the warranty has expired on my CSS-SQ, I might look into shortening the stick on it.

After 12 months of using my PVC rig I decided while I'm on holidays that it was time to finally complete it to a state that I can say it's finished.
The past few months have been spent adding items to personalise it & doing minor adjustments to get it all how I want. While the last few days have been spent screwing & painting all the PVC & also painting the trolley I built for it. Here's a run down & pics of the changes, mods & finally the fully assembled painted rig.

- Added a DSD P1 Button Box with RAM Mount. (DSD Button Boxes are the best that money can buy IMHO)
- Short Throw Shifter for TH8RS using M6 coach bolt & SAAS gear knob. (inspired from yipzone)
- Dashboard for AC & iRacing using Arduino Nano (as posted on AC forum here)
- A1 sim racing wheel with DSD Wheel Adapter. (added the two momentary buttons bought from Jaycar, rewired back into G25 hub contoller PCB)
- PVC sprayed in Silver Hammertone Enamel. (1 can of PVC primer & 5 cans of paint for 2 layers)
- Trolley painted in Satin Black Acrylic (one 250ml tin for 2 layers)

Duke's FOV enhancer mod stage 1... You can still see the old monitor mount behind it.
Stage 2 will be to add some bracing particularly on the far end of the monitor. As it does sway a little bit more than I like altough it's not as bad as I though it would be.
