Now that's brilliant, kids ingenuity at its finest.
Mind you I think durability & accuracy may be an issue for long term use.

SimXperience AccuForce Wheel pricing details revealed

Post by Duke »

Looks like I need to save a few more biccies before I get one of these...
But sure is a game changer on pricing for a direct drive wheel from my research it's 50% or less than a bodnar simsteering system / wheel.

Today head of SimXperience, Berney Villers announced the introductory prices on the iRacing Forums. Judging from the post, it seems that the official AccuForce webpage will be up soon.
Berney Villers wrote:Introductory AccuForce Prices are as follows:
AccuForce Pro Momo Edition – $1949
AccuForce Pro – $1749
AccuForce DIY – $1449

Component pricing, complete spec sheet, etc. will be made available when we complete the AccuForce portion of the website.

At this point I know of no reason why we won’t be able to release the product this year as planned. Those of you patient enough to wait for the AccuForce won’t be disappointed. The result of the features and refinements we made throughout 2014 put this wheel in a league far beyond direct drive 101.

Here is a list of the most important AccuForce features. (Keep in mind that more features will be revealed by the time of the official product launch.)
Includes SimXperience steering wheel or optional MOMO
Includes SimXperience quick release system with gold contacts (suitable for use on real race car)
Includes Carbon Fiber / Aluminum paddle shifters
Includes adjustable wheel button box
Accommodates a wide variety of real world racing steering wheels
Robust Force Feedback Management and Analysis software suite.
Custom Direct Drive Motor provides extreme response
Includes SimXperience AccuForce controller box
Includes FREE dashboard software (usable on phones and PC monitors)
Includes FREE In game Heads Up display dashboard software
No belts to absorb force feedback detail or wear and stretch
Encoder resolution – 16,000 PPR (Pulses Per Revolution)
Update Rate of 2000 updates per second via Dual 1000Hz streams (SimXperience Dual-Stream)

Expectedly the price has gone up to $785AUD RRP.
But there is a loyalty pre-release special for existing ClubSport and CSR Elite base owners who will get an exclusive invite to purchase the CSW Base V2 @ $655AUS.
If they take up this loyalty offer then they also get a 2nd code to give to a friend or their original code is transferable if they don't purchase themselves. :D
So if anyone gets a code (their own they don't use or a friend code) then PM me pretty please.

Okay lads, I've just received my shipping invoice for my V2 base! That normally means that it will be despatched on Monday or Tuesday next week. Just in time for my birthday, and the A1 wheel should turn up a day or two before for me to attach to my universal hub :bounce:

This also means that I have been allocated a second invitation code. The price is currently at $685 and the availability date is marked up as 31/3/2015. I've sent Duke a PM to offer the code to him first. Boxhead, if Duke doesn't want to take it up, I'll offer it to you next.

Thanks for the offer Cursed but I've decided to wait for the SimExperience Direct Drive Wheel. So if you can find someone else who will use the invite code then go right ahead.
by the way here's one of, if not the 1st owner review of the v2 base...

So that's $655 purely for the base nothing else included like a rim or pedals or anything right?

I budget $50/wk for lunches and coffees for myself. Whatever I don't spend, goes in my hobby fund. It stopped my buying crap food and has now bought some good PC and driving kit.

I took norbs lead & also bought & built one of these arduino dash kits for AC & iR. :D

Big thanks to norbs for his assistance with getting it working, the arduino part did my head in but once sorted it works flawlessly. :vibes:

My CSW V2 arrived today. Nothing exciting to show in the way of pics, but I will say that the level of forces are significantly higher. There also seems to be a bit more detail in the finer stuff. I haven't messed with the setting particularly, so this might even get better. I now feel like I can use the BMW GT2 rim without sacrificing feel or having to accept the ffb fade.

I just turned half a dozen laps at Spa in the BMW M3 GT2 and managed an appreciable sweat. The V1 feels positively limp in comparison.

One minor bad - the little exhaust fan is a bit noisy for my liking, but when you're thumping around in a racing car, you really don't notice that stuff at all.

Considering that desk-mounting is my only option, I"m not feeling particularly rained on. :D

As an update, there seems to be a rather excessive amount of built-in damper in the driver on the CSW V2, and you can't dial it out. Consequently everything you drive feels like the front tyres have been deflated and stuck in wet concrete. It's a pretty hefty load, too. I did find that their "drift" settings on the wheel can be turned up to cancel out that extra drag, however.

Next savings target : Oculus Rift consumer release.

Use your mobile phone for track-ir style head tracking. Instructions are for Elite but I think it will work in race sims as well.

A game changer for a very very niche market. Does nothing for me when it is at that sort of price point.

I wonder what their market penetration would be?

I don't think it'll change any games, apart from the games of the few who purchase it - maybe :)
US $1700 isn't something many people drop on their sim-hobby.
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

I don't see how it would be a game changer but it looks like a very nice bit of kit.
