Nice looking wheel from Thrustmaster
Thrustmaster Leather 28 GT Wheel Add-On Revealed for their line of Force Feedback steering wheels.

Being 28 centimeters in diameter, the GT-style rim is all about build quality as Thrustmaster has focused on using strong and durable materials such as brushed metal and genuine hand-stitched leather for an authentic feeling.
The wheel rim also comes with 13 centimeter tall wheel-mounted paddle shifters as well as six buttons, a D-pad a three-position rotary switch for a complete GT-racing look. Despite the use of high quality materials, the rim weighs just one kilogram.
The Leather 28 GT Wheel Addon-On comes with widespread compatibility across Thrustmaster’s product lineup, working with the T300 RS, T300 Ferrari GT3, T500RS, Ferrari F1 Integral T500 and Thrustmaster TX wheel bases, a product range that spans across four gaming platforms.
The Leather 28 GT will be selling for 149,99 Euros/Dollars respectively.

SimExperience AccuFrocce Wheel with either Richmotech GT Pro 1/2 or DSD Professional pedals.

Might be a bit over your budget & may not make you any faster (maybe even slower) but oh man what a setup. :D

Budget is in.

Looks like I could go Fanatic v2 pedals and base with the Porsche wheel rim.

Great choices, next best thing to my suggestion. :p
The only thing that concerns me is FANATEC's poor reliability & customer service especially when it comes to warranties. :(

Mate at work got both motors in his v1 replaced 1 month out of warranty for v2 motors for free. Turn around was about 3 weeks. He had nothing but good things to say.

I hear good and bad stories.

Only concern I have is the larger wheel diameter, I'm very use to my 10" g25 and find quick adjustments easy. I'de imagine the larger wheel would take some adjusting to.

Boxhead went this same route didn't he?

Darren had his v1 motors changed for v2's too. But he is sponsored after all.
But 2 stories of them failing proves the reliability concerns.
Be interesting to see how you go long term.

My Fanatec warranty experiences have been exceptionally good. That I needed them, bothers me a bit, but I haven't had a bad experience of it. The motors in the v1 base went on me too and they gave me the option as to whether I changed it over or sent it back to them. I have had some issues with the hall sensors and magnets in the pedals, but they've been attended to in a timely fashion.

The v2 base has some awesome feedback in it. It's in a completely different league to something like a g25/27. The internals are different enough to the v1 base, that I doubt that it's really fair to cast suspicion on the v2 based on the v1. I don't have the Porsche rim, I have the BMW, the formula and a custom one I knocked together with their hub.

Get on https://www.fanatec.com/forum/categories/blog and have a look around. Last I looked there were people on there asking for and giving away invitations. Just make sure you get an AU one.

I'll stick with my G-25 at my desk. The stuff posted here would be nice to have but a few years ago I saw a picture of Dale Earnhart Jr at his desk, in his office chair and a G-25 playing iRacing. I figured at that stage that all the nice gear in the world wont make me any faster. But I do like that Lotus 18 cockpit. :)

I'm not using this stuff to go faster. I just like using it. Use what makes you happy.
