The control panel wrap is done!

I bought some carbon fibre style wrap from ebay for less than $20 - figured I could just rip if off if it was no good.

Progress shot.

The finished product.

I'm happy with the look and it feels much better than spray painted mdf.

I even wacked in the red T-Mould to finish it off

Well.... after a few weekends with an hour here and an hour there, it's done!

The ArcadeWorx flat pack I ended up using went together very similar to IKEA furniture, using locking pins.

Here are some progress shots of the build:

All up and running, even got the thumbs up from the Mother in law :tilt:

Learnt a few things along the way and also made a few mistakes. Nothing that hurts the machine, more time saving.
Actually, the longest part of this whole process is getting the software to a point I was happy with. I've lost count of the many hours that took.

Having a few ppl over this weekend, so can give it a good run and iron out any bugs I haven't found myself - will also test it's durability!

The only thing I didn't do was remove the PC from the case and screw it into the cabinet, mainly because I'm lazy... but also because there is a lot more room inside the cabinet than I first imagined and the slimline PC case fits in as is. :D

Thanks guys!
The build was fun

A very rough estimate would be:

ArcadeWorx Case delivered: $500
Spray paint: $40
T-Mould: $20
Vinyl wrap: $20

Joysticks/buttons/ipac2: $200
speakers/amp/wiring: $50

Monitor: $15 (second hand)

misc cables: $30

Software Frontend: $25

This doesn't include the donor PC, which I had gathering dust in the cupboard.

Time fiddling with software setup/wiring/putting together: Too many hours to count.

I'm sure I've missed something, but It'd have to be close, if not over the $1000 mark.
Wow... that's the first time I've thought about the total cost.
It all starts to add up quickly.

As it is, I need to buy a replacement amp as my original has been dropped and only works on one channel now :(

It's actually an RX-V3900..... :D

But I dropped the amp for the arcade unit: Image
Thankfully it's only a $15 part.

Well that's much nicer. I did wonder why the 3900 needed moving haha.
