G27 detected as Driving Force

Post by DexterPunk »

Hey all, I just went to jump into some DiRT rally. It recently did a massive update so I wasn't surprised that went I went to drive I had no gears. Just assumed I had to put all my wheel settings back in. I noticed that in game it was recognised as a Driving Force Pro. Shut down the game, and looked at devices in control panel. It came up as a G27, but when I went to check calibration etc, it was detected as a Driving Force Pro in windows as well. Removed the device, and uninstalled the Logitech profiler. Downloaded the latest software, and installed, and same thing happens. Looks for devices, finds a G27, and then the calibration screen shows a Driving Force Pro. Any one know what might be going on here? The wheel is a few years old but I don't race much anymore. It hasn't had a whole lot of use. I'd had to think it's gone bad somehow.

This happened to me a couple of weeks back.

Followed this and make sure to pay particular attention to the part about the manufacturer's drivers auto updates.

Thanks for the link. I'll try that if it plays up again. I managed to get it working after installing the new software. I thought it was still stuffed because the calibration step showed the driving force. I skipped though it and the Logitech profiler popped up and everything was working and showing a G27. Set it up in game and all appears to be good. Very odd.

There was an issue like this a few months ago in W10, after Logitech released a profiler update for the G29/920. But I thought they fixed it with a new patch.
Is that what you guys have experienced?

It could have been. It's probably been a few months since I've fired up a sim.

We had to move a race night in the last series because of this, M$ or Logitech sent the Logitech profiler through Windows update which trashed its configuration if you already had it installed, which is pretty much everyone, uninstall/reinstall was the fix.
