If I wanted it enough I'd have paid the shipping but same as Kev I have the 24-105 and 16-35.

If you're on the talk photography forum they have a reasonably healthy classified section. Some of the haggling gets a bit silly though. I've seen some arguing over £5 on an item costing hundreds!

Have experienced similar ridiculousness selling via POTN. Made this mistake of throwing in a couple 77mm filters I'd have had no need for once the lens was sold, for free ... received a message from the buyer saying that said free filters were in poor condition. Didn't message back.

I'm not actually sure what a good price is for one these days, but I'd prefer a quick hassle-free sale than getting top dollar for it. There's a decent shop locally that I might go to and propose a trade for the two primes I'd be vaguely interested in buying for the money - a 50 and 85mm - if they offer me a good trade or trade +/- cash then I'd probably go for that.

I've always wanted one of them...no budget for it, though. :(

Love my 24 - 70.
I recently sold a heap of gear on Gumtree. It was quick and painless.

It's a great lens I never use anymore. It's great for getting work done but I don't do any photography jobs anymore - partly due to lack of motivation to do so but ultimately due to my perennially poor business skills. What little photography I do for myself is done with smaller primes, and I'm almost permanently thinking I should knock that on the head as well.

I just checked the TP site and the last one for sale there went a couple of weeks ago for £525 (good condition, boxed, v1). I've sold a couple before through WEX. It's credit rather than a cash sale but they've always offered a very fair price in my opinion, considering the lack of hassle. You say what you have, they give a price, arrange free a courier to collect, they inspect it within 3 days or so and credit your store account.

Well, given that the idea is to buy a 50 (and maybe 85) that might not be a bad option. Thanks for the tip!

In the end, a mate who I shot a wedding with at the beginning of September agreed to take it and ebay for me, then send me the money. Saves me the hassle. My initial plan was to sell it to him but he had gone out and bought one. He was interested in the body though, which was tempting as well but I'd lose too much on that to be able to buy what I'd like to replace it with. While I have no work on except for myself I'm sticking with my manual 50mm, and then when the money for the 24-70 comes in, I'll get some replacement lenses.

Hey gents

Just after an opinion on price if I sold my gear

Canon 40d body
28-105 lens
50mm lens
75-300 lens
couple of batteries, cf cards (with 4gb the largest)
lowepro slingshot bag (100 I think)

What should I ask for it at mates rates? or what should I put it up at Overclockers for?

Would need be priced to sell, not just sit there for sale. Im not in need of cash but there is no point overpricing stuff.

Im just not using it is the only reason for selling. I have not used it much since I have had it.

Hmmmm quick look on eBay.. There's a few 40D bodies going for around the $280-350 mark... I think around $450-500 with the extras would be a fair mates rates price. Might be hard to move that stuff though unless you go cheaper than what it's worth (if that makes any sense at all).

That sounds very cheap Bauer. I doubt you'll have any trouble moving it for that price.

Currently offering for sale:

Canon EOS 7D body with battery grip and spare battery: AU $800
EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro: AU $350
EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS: AU $1500
2 x Canon 550EX Flashes: AU $300
Canon ST-E2 Speedlight transmitter: AU $150

All in excellent to as new condition except for the ST-E2 which is very good and one flash which is okay.

Body comes with battery charger and manual. Flashes also come with manual and cases. EOS software (which is quite good actually) also supplied. I don't have the manual for the Speedlight transmitter but it can be found online, along with a lot of other relevant information.

Im gonna put this up on OC this weekend if I get around to it. I will put a res at 400 and instant at 480 both + post

If anyone here wants it at the $400 price, let me know. Rough postage to Sydney ~$35 with insurance. By the numbering of the files, it is only just over 6000 shots

My 24-70 has finally been sold - got £555 for it, which is about right I think. I now have everything I was considering buying with the money so I'll try and find somewhere interesting to go and take pictures of with what kit I already have.

Ha, ha! What lens did you get?

I responded to your PM but it's still in the outbox.

Haven't bought a lens yet. I am thinking it's out of these two

Canon Lens 24-105 EF f/4L IS USM

Canon Lens EF 24-70mm F/4L IS USM

Thoughts or opinions graciously accepted.

Photography Gear For Sale thread.

Can vouch for the 24-105. It's possibly the most used lens in my kit. I get better image quality out of it than my 16-35mm that I paid about $1800 for :/

I have no experience with the 24-70. I'm sure it's fine too. But I think if you were going to sacrifice some reach (70 vs 105) then you'd want it to be the f/2.8. Those two lenses line up more closely as each have a valid advantage. I don't see where the f/4 24-70 would have an advantage over the 24-105.

Hey guys,

I'm selling my Canon G12. It's in good shape and comes with a battery and the charger but no SD card. It's a great camera but I needed a longer zoom and have just bought a Nikon P610.

Image

Second hand G12's seem to go for $100 — $200 on eBay. I''m happy to take $100 if anyone is keen.
