But yes, the service from this particular dealership has left a bit to be desired. They've put it in the too-hard basket.

Wow. That's just not good enough.

I find it hard to trust mechanics. Mechanics and dentists. Fuck 'em.

Hopefully this doesn't linger on too long. I'm guessing you've hit up forums in search of others having the same problem?

I can get the locknuts off if I really want to, that's not really the problem. I've spoken to a few of my rally mechanic friends and there are ways. :)

It's more than I'm pretty amazed that this issue has never come up for the Ford dealer before, to the extent that they have no idea what to do, and no procedure to follow.

Absolutely, and doesn't seem like they are as concerned about getting it sorted as they should be.

Why not bypass the dealer if they've washed their hands of it and ask the head office support line, maybe they may offer a solution that the dealer is unaware of?
