You have 50k, what do you buy?

Post by DexterPunk »

We have the 100k thread, interested to see how you'd all spend 50k.

Rules are:

- Has to be spent on a car...

It's also not your daily and you magically have space for it.

Been wanting a show pony/usable pony for a while. If I had the money, easily would be this or a variant of, f100 etc.

Hmmmmm, straight off the cuff.

A few paddock bashes for use in demo derbies. Spare change for replacement bits or bin it and get a new one. 50k should last a fair while and provide a barrel of laughs.

That or a cheap track or hillclimb car. Nfi what Ide go but as long as its fun and rear wheel drive.

Hmmm... difficult price range for me.

I'd either wait for a mint E46 M3 or E39 M5 come up (not very often) or go for an RS Megane. RB8 would be nice http://www.carsales.com.au/private/deta ... 7123/?Cr=0

No supercharged Exiges under 50k unfortunately...

I'd buy an MY00 WRX
Engine, driveline and suspension mods.
Have change for track day slicks.

I miss my old WRX. :tilt:

You could talk this guy down to $50k

http://www.my105.com/ListingDetails/p/6 ... 2/id/14611

But seriously, if it's not to be a daily driver I'd probably buy a Toyobaru 86/BRZ and prep it for track sprints / rallies. That would quickly approach the limits of the $100k thread, though. :p

That would look completely out of place in Werribee I am sure... :)

No one would steal it because they all have their own, but mine would have a Holden badge.

I've been thinking about getting a ute for work and would naturally favor a Holden, but all the dickheads seem to drive them and it's put me off. So I'm thinking it might be a Ford instead.

Next step is you will be buying two dogs as ute pets...

You will get extra credit from the faithful if you name the first one Marcos, and the second Ambrose... :)

Yep. That's what I was looking for.

But I think you'd have a better chance of fitting into it than I would...

Or Pathfinder, Sorrento, Santa Fe... etc. Also look at things like Grand Picasso. Lots of 7 seaters on the market these days.

I'd have a Prado over the Kluger any day. Any reason why the Kluger?

If you're not going off road or towing what's the point of the Prado?

It comes in diesel and has a long track record. That's pretty much it. The Kluger only comes in the thirsty V6 doesn't it?

Actually, I don't mind the new Klugger (be fucked if I'm going to pronounce it "Klooger". What idiot thought up that name?).

The new model is a quantum leap over the old one, especially since it's AWD. My old one was front wheel drive, which made it much, much worse.

The new one is also much better finished and considerably quieter.

They both chew up a hell of a lot of fuel though.
