Abarth 124 Spider

Post by Bauer »

Test drive today. Terrific little car

Quicker than my Elise, slower than my old Golf, handles brilliantly from what my amateur ability can tell.

124 is nice. Price is excellent too. I reckon it looks off in pictures but fantastic in the metal. I'd definitely pick it over an MX5

Nice little car...but I have to ask, why not a Toyota 86?
You can save a bit on the purchase, spend it on track days! ;)
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

Had one Steve. Liked it, don't miss it though. Only time I do is when I read the thread here. I miss my $5k MX5 more. Maybe it's because I drove like a grandpa rather than like it was stolen.

I enjoy the roof down drive too much I think. Would prolly get an early WRX otherwise.

No Haze. Not yet. ;)

Depends on what you want. It's about $3k more than the top line MX5 but in my opinion still better featured but about $10k more than the base model.
And the new RF MX5 will be more expensive than the Abarth

If I was looking for a track/road car to spend money on, I'd take a second hand MX5 and throw stuff at it. That would be my preference over an 86.

So I ordered one this week. Delivery in about 2 weeks as the spec I chose was available in Melbourne.
