Mark section as "not interested"?

Post by ysu »

Gents, I'm wondering if you guys know of any way to mark certain section of the forums as "not interested" so they never come up in the "active topics".

Eg, I'm not interested in the new Avatar Auto Racing club section (no offence - just a good, recent example) and the "active topics" is swamped by this section. It drowns out the threads I'm interested in.

Thanks.

Edit: there must be some mechanism (altho maybe not personally available) - e.g.this thread does not show up.

Heh, knew exactly what this was about before I opened it :D

I was surprised too this morning and thought "well isn't someone organised". I have a feeling it each morning won't be like this, as all of those new threads most likely won't be used simultaneously.

I had a quick poke around the preferences but haven't seen anything to hide certain sections.

Lol. Was thinking the same thing the past couple of days. Maybe a subscribe option? Not sure. i usually sort through the "unread" part so I guess at some stage if something took off it would get swamped.

Oh I had a look into the personal settings, too, but I saw nothing quickly.

The "subscribe" option would be a bit counter-intuitive here, in my opinion, as it'd restrict your views to pre-set things - i.e. you'd not notice anything new.

A suggestion from above will probably be to make the AAR section private.

Though I have not had any real interest in iR for some time, I would still like to read about what others are up to. Maybe a sub forum for private inner team stuff? That will allow them to have a bitch as well and sometimes you need to do that :D Though I would hope the pre and post race report stuff remains public

It is purely because it is a new sub forum and the people are super active.

They already have a private forum as well, the same as most of the racing teams.

Give it time, it should settle down.

We were just setting it all up.

I don't think you can see them now as their forum isn't visible to the rest of you muggles any more :)
