TV Reception

Post by SE1Z »

Hi guys,

Recently had to replace the coax plug on my aerial lead.
No drama's, all done.

Except....

I have perfect tv reception all day....
Then at around 6pm, most channels drop off the air and all I can get is Channel 9 (and GEM, EXTRA, GO.. etc..) - no 7, 10, abc....

Any ideas????

Why would it work fine during the day, then go to shit at night?

They talk about it here with some atmosphere thingy an explaination.

If it has only happened since you have redone the cable or mounted your TV to the wall then maybe something there is the cause

Steve,

May not help, but standard connections (the plug in ones) give me grief, changed to the screw type and not had an issue since...

The plug it self might have an issue, or being it could be other people getting home unloading on the RF.

I swear I haven't unloaded on the RF once! :D

well, on topic
I often have trouble with reception for example weekend afternoons on certain channels (7 is the worst). These things exist. But since it has only started since the plug change, it maybe worth trying to replace it again. Maybe using a different type.
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

Turns out it was a dead Play TV - The PS3 version of a PVR.

Grabbed a standalone and all is good again.

Thanks guys!
