Was running a consistent 4th. A class A driver comes up to me and can't get by... I can see him getting frustrated, but I'm holding my line which doesn't give him many choices to pass... I think it's good defensive driving.

He doesn't. turns me around exiting 4, I get 2x and he gets nothing, all cause he's frustrated and can't pass.

Anyone else get this regularly? I told him I wasn't happy with his driving and his excuse was there was no other way. Sure I made it hard, but he wasn't trying any other lines to manufacture a pass. very disappointing.

i know, there are very few drivers out there that understand that when passing is too dangerous it is simply is too risky,it may cause damage to the car(expensive) or even injuries...so yea i learnt to let them pass...plus i find putting pressure on the pilot infront very exciting....

yea Istvan,i think i made a decision ,,,i will run the riley season,,,almost got the radical though, but yea see you on the track...of course i will run the dallara too if i can...by the way today i was in 3d (with the dallara) 10 laps to go the guy behind me was at some 34 sec.....brain fart and i damaged the suspension(a very small incident),race finished.(i have not learnt to relax and take the car home bah i am a noob).....i cried for 5 min,i feel better now, shame cause i really like driving it and with my pb of 1:10.6 at barber i feel very confident, the ovals races spoilt everything......ta!!

bugger!
good to hear you're coming into the Riley - start the praccy, the 1st one is an easy track, and the Riley is a very friendly machine after the dallara. Race tomorrow afternoon. :)

Oh, I'm running in the 40s - fairly safely too, I've managed to put in a time trial already.

I find putting pressure on the person in front often works well if they are the same pace as me of course. Make them sweat and mistakes come :)

Indycar was by far the more popular car last season. I haven't looked at numbers this season but i'd still expect the Indycar to be in front by a fair way. There's also an Aussie league on the for Indycar (starts tonight).

indi maybe more popular, but he Riley is pure road (indi has 4 bloody ovals in the season), and the car is fantastic.

me; definitely Riley. Races are around sun midday. 9metal won't do ovals either, as far as i know ;)

One good thing about the ovals last season is that, Indy aside, I didn't really have to practice them. Once I grabbed a setup, I did a few laps and practiced pitting and that was about it. Each road course I need to invest a good two hours of running into before I'm ready for a race.

Boo-hoo, I'll let you cry on my shoulder. 2 whole hours? must be terrible.

Was just in a Mazda race at Sebring. Started 5th on the grid, up to 4th because someone made a mistake. I Run wide onto the back straight letting the guy behind me though but get the inside run at him in the final turn complex. Hugging the inside line i get in line with him but he keeps moving over. I try to slow down to give him more room but i'm right on the edge.....BAND we hit. What was that for i asked? He replied I was just holding my line. I told him you can't "just hold your line if it's going to cause you to crash you hillbilly..... Do Americans get road racing at all? It's made me so mad!

Boy i'm loving Brands Hatch in the Mazda after Sebring, So wide, flowing and smooth! Need to do some laps to get up to speed though. PB atm is a 1.21.1, seen guys in the mid 20's.

I ended up getting the indy car. What a beast that is! Great car! I'm not doing rounds 2 and 3 because i don't want my ir and sr to take a hit on the ovals.....

Bought Brands Hatch, Indianapolis, Mosport, the CR6, Dalara and the COT last night.
Been having a blast!!!! Not fussed about racing at the moment, just having fun in the test sessions.

Geez, iRacing has finally added some things in its service that were really lacking when i stopped playing 8 odd months ago. One that pops to mind was others skid marks and tyre smoke. :)

Its not a seamless system like LFS. You have to download others skins from the web for them to show up in game.

Have a look here Vil

Personally the default paint thingo in iRacing is good enough for me at the moment, I dont think i can be arsed making skins for iRacing.

Sup guys,

Been playing this for past week, doing the Solstice series, missed the first week but running about 129th in season standings and 22nd in the season time trial, looking forward to next month to get promoted and get some different series.
What do you guys reckon i should go into after being promoted?

Its kinda annoying how the skin system works, wish it was more like LFS, apart from that im really enjoying it :)

Unfortunately, with iRacing having officially sanctioned series (the oval stuff actually gets reports on NASCAR.com now), there's no real way they could legally get away with having skins with unapproved sponsors logos being automatically downloaded. It's the price we pay for having something that has this 'real world' exposure.

Skippy or Mazda. Both are well populated in our timezone.

You'll have a hard time finding races in the Jetta or the Radical.

I don't have the skippy but you can always get into a race with the Mazda. It seems to be the most popular car in iRacing...
