Flash can still be side loaded into Jelly Bean. And ive read that if you download a OTA update from ISC to JB flash is retained.

So... had a read over this thread and only have a couple of questions.... :tilt:

How do those with the Nexus 7 find it for TVshows/Movies?

I'm looking at getting one for my daily commute and am just not sure if the 7" screen will be big enough/ok?

Best/cheapest place to buy one?

Thanks!

I imagine the Nexus 7 will be just as good, but I watch Youtube in HD all the time on my 7.7 Galaxy Tab and find it great for that.

This is correct. When I upgraded my transformer to Jelly Bean (using the OTA update), the Flash plugin I had already installed still worked. But only in the default browser & Firefox (Opera & Chrome don't detect it).

Share your connection from your smartphone? The tablet would then be on WiFi ;)

My ASUS Transformer Prime (TF201) got the Jelly Bean 4.1.1 update this morning :)

The update (for me) was a bitch as the tablet was hanging onto DMClient's cache and I couldnt clear it...then DMClient crashed every time I tried to do the OTA update... Ended up taking a punt, backed up the content I cared about and Factory Reset the sucker which did the trick. Within an hour later I was running Jelly Bean on my TF201.

So much smoother than ICS and thanks to needing a reset Ive only installed the apps and games I played the most. Just need to put my music, pictures & videos back on from the backup and im loving life.

Had a quick ply with Google Now and it was a million times better in recognising my voice than the older versions on Andriod. But what I liked was how th results were feed back to you in comparison to siri that makes me want to use Google Now as much as I can.

How are you finding it? I've been wanting to do the same thing lately. 10" looks too bulky for the bus from what I've seen, 7" looks a good size.

Not sure whether to get one now or wait. A new version is supposed to be out in May.

Grabbed a galaxy note 8.0 whilst overseas. Over priced but I love it. The size is perfect. The s-pen let me scribble notes over the top of the pdf handouts we got at the conference and the ir remote function is handy too since we don't have a universal remote. It's at least $100 too pricey but besides that I can't fault it so far.

Hi all,

Bit of a thread dig here but i'm banging my head against a brick wall here trying to figure out what to get.

I'm after a tablet that i can easily put videos i have 'acquired' from the internet on and watch.
Also id like to be able to use all the same apps i use on my galaxy s4 phone on it too.

I was looking at the microsoft surface's but as they run windows i wont be able to use the apps i want to.

I think ive narrowed it down to the galaxy note or the galaxy tab 10.1 .

Am i on the right track do you think?. Budget is around $4-700

Cheers all

Nexus are good, only down side is you can't expand the memory like you can on the galaxy tabs. At least you can't on the 7" nexus anyway. Think the 10" is the same.

Not a problem at all, just get a USB OTG cable and your set.

I've just bought myself a Sony Xperia Z2.

I bought the Sony to replace our first generation Asus Transformer as it was just too slow to browse with by today's standards. It's extremely light, almost like holding a piece of cardboard, and the screen is very nice. It's a worthy upgrade but frankly there isn't really anywhere to go with tablets - once you have one that's quick enough to browse and run all the apps you use on a decent screen, I'm not sure what else you can ask for.

At least with the Sony you can hilariously pretend to accidentally spill water on it. :)

I'm getting the wife an LG G Pad for her birthday which has decent reviews. I did contemplate a Nexus 7 but have a feeling it'll be replaced soon, and I looked at the iPad Mini but can't really see where that extra £100 goes.

The LG should arrive tomorrow though so I'll let you know how it looks in a few days.

So thinking of getting a Tablet, will be used as a mix of quick web stuff for the Mrs and some apps for the boy (5) to play when he is good :)

Any recommendations? Don't want to spend more than about $500
