USB-C port issues - fixed

Post by KNAPPO »

Thought ide share this with you blokes incase you ever run into issues with your phones USB-C port.

I had been having all sorts of issues with the USB C port over the last few months. Fast 240v charging stopped working and data transfer stopped as well. Spent hours on the weekend fucking with drivers on the pc to try and fix the problems with no avail. Last ditch effort was to try and get it to work on the Mac at work today and no luck.

I was reading up online that people were saying with all the things I had tried to RMA the device for a new usb port... The last post said dont do that, the port needs cleaning as it gets dust build up and to use a paper clip. Well a paper clip was like trying to do surgery with a butter knife so I used a scalpel blade.

The amount of dust and fluff I got out of that little port was scary! Now I have data transfer again and will test fast charging tonight when I get home. Seems to have fixed the problems, I need data transfer so I can get the Substratum theme engine running on the 6P without root.
