Gran Turismo 5 Time Trial Challenge

Post by ReppohC »

A bit disappointed that tyre stack at the first corner doesn't move. Physics feel pretty smick though! Guy at the top of the AU leader board at the moment is >> then everyone else (world wide!)... He uses every freakin' inch of the track!

Anyone else playing? I've managed to get into the top 100 (out of 198 hah) hoping to move up a bit more when I use my wheel though :)

I had in my mind that this was out tomorrow. Took a quick spin just now, I like how it feels. I'm going to setup the PS3 in the study and get the wheel going. I'm gonna have a big dig at this one. So far, with the hand control I'm into the 40s, but that was about 4 laps. Also, using tuned car, not standard.

Managed a 38.4 with the thumb twiddler last night. I think I'll knock a bit of that with a wheel.

Should I buy a PS3?

I am not after a debate, but Forza 3 is only good for the paint shop, the rest is gay

There's a pretty good incentive to have a crack too :D

Can't recommend it over Forza CJ, as I have never played it. But the feel of this seems a little better than older GT, but still very much GT but more pretty.

Just had a quick spin on it :) runs alot smoother in 1080p then it did in GT5P.

Ranked 172nd with a 1'39.614... I found the key to getting quicker was 3rd gear through the corners?

i'm 231st at the moment with a 1:38.212. Feeling like I'm reaching the limit of what a controller can do...
It's been nice, chaps.

Controller is a pain in the bum to drive with, just way to sensitive. As soon as I started using my wheel took a second off my times after only a couple laps! Worst part is the road car though and 'forced' TC with the controller.

I'm starting to reach my limits now. Still got about half a second in each car with my pb splits but really can't see myself getting much further than that. Feel like I'm using every inch of the road and being as smooth as I can. My aim now is to just finish in the top 100 for AU!! Still a very very long time to go though...

Just try slow it down a bit more and take the straightest line possible. If you go too fast you'll screw up your exit speed and approach for the long straight.
Never argue with a idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Yeah, and try using third gear for the second one, helps keep traction in check :)
