Hmmm.....thinking......what to do about the server move, I was chattin to Raz last night and we've decided to give Ausfrag a go because while the Stipe server is ok, Stipe tech support sucks! They always use their standard goto reply, "map is too large, start a new map and see if the problems persist" rather than actually listening to what you tell them.

The Ausfrag servers from our little bit of testing feel better. but we've just started our last month with Stipe, so not sure whether to go and start a fresh on Ausfrag or continue with Stipe for the remainder of the month and move the map down the track. Will have a think some more. :)

need to make sure we get the FTP from ausfrag. it says you get some TCAdmin 2.0 admin panel, nothing about FTP...

Raz confirmed that there is ftp access through the panel I believe, been chatting with Raz today, he suggested we stick with Stipe for the remainder of the month so if there are any issues with 1.2 we know they are issues with it, and not something we don't know about with the new host. A week or so out from Stipe running out I'll setup an account and get that sorted out.

Well 1.2 is out, here's the highlights list, I won't be able to anything about it until I get home from work, so maybe someone else will sort it sooner.

New jungle biome
Added ocelots
Added cats
Added iron golems
New AI for mobs
Tame wolves can have puppies
Villagers will have children if there is room in their village
New map height limit (256 instead of 128)
New items and blocks
Doors have been updated so that double-doors work better with redstone
Added rare drops for mobs
Many other minor tweaks and fixes
Check out the full change log right here

Raz has put 1.2 on the server, with a fresh map, if anyone wants something ported to the new map, let me know, but you may be in for a wait while the map editors come to grips with the new anvil map format.

Cool, I will jump on tonight and start a new project. Dunno what yet.

With the porting over is that in reference to structures or chest inventory or both?

Lol norbs, I'm not 100% sure about it Rots, but when you cut and paste an area in MCEdit it brings all entities within that area along as well, so you may get chests and their contents, will know more once MCEdit do whatever they have to do to be compatible with the new map format and I can test it out.

While I think of it, try not to venture out too wide early on folks, in about 3 weeks time we'll more than likely move hosts, and it will suck to have to pull down a 1gb map, and then upload it again. :D

FYI
  • If a player builds to the height limit, and stands on top of that structure, the game will crash with a false "saving chunks" screen.
