I was wondering whether your timers were going to become a problem, when I was there last I saw a few timers on 0.4 secs, and I thought to myself whether they would cause issues like short duration redstone timers. Here's hoping you can just slow down the duration of things to decrease the packets per second count.

I had them at the default 2 seconds at one point and it still went bad. Could also be from triggering 3 machines off 1 timer. I'll have to experiment and see what happens, but I don't need them atm so I'll leave them off when not in use.

Just type it in the console, same way you do for the tunnel program.

It takes 3 parameters, length, height and depth. You need to put torches in it's 1st inventory slot so it can place them as it goes. You can also put cobblestone in the 2nd slot and it will use it to clear lava. It only breaks the source block though, flowing lava will still take time to clear away on its own.

If mining at the usual level 12, "cavern 20 3 6" will dig a tunnel 20 blocks long, 3 blocks up from floor level and 6 blocks down to bedrock. That's what I usually use, though I've been doing "cavern 100 3 6" It takes about an hour to dig that though.

If it's inventory gets full it will return to the starting point and empty itself. The timers I was using were for transposers which you can use to suck up everything that gets dropped and pipe it with pneumatic pipe into a chest. It all got laggy when I made an automatic sorting system to put different items in different chests and put ore through macerator and furnace before storing it.

Interesting, I'm about to knock up a sorting system but just using buildcraft/IC2 parts if I can manage it, guess I'll have to keep a close eye on each part as I add it to see what cause lag and what doesn't. If you hit F3 and look at the entity counter Darren you may see what is adding all the load, I'm guessing it might be a similar problem to a mob grinder where you get too many entities in one chunk and load the server down.

Been pretty quiet, Bauer is on a bit at the moment since he only found it recently, Raz and I went pretty hard on it for a while but have also backed off lately too.
